just a thought, but we all know that G has not had a PR update. So if G has allegedly killed the PR System then doesn't that kill tiered linkbuilding? Because the whole point of tiered linkbuilding is when there is a PR update your Tier 1 Links with tons of Tier 2 links will get PR which will ultimately pass the juice to your money site.

    What do you guys think?

With or without the update it has always worked when done correctly.

Unfortunately, there hasn't been a notable PR update but it's still valuable underground.

I build a lot of private network links from aged domains with existing PR and know what am taking about...

Tiered linkbuilding is not only for PR, but for the link juice the tiers pass to each other and help in the SERPs

With or without PR, tiered linkbuilding is still valuable

what do you recommend for tier2 links? I have 9 high quality Tier 1 links (DA 50+) and wondering if i should build tier 2 links to them. Because if there is no PR update then i'll be wasting my money for Tier2 links

I'm thinking maybe i should buy blog network posts...like 10-15 links to each tier 1 link using generic anchor texts...

    Any help would be appreciated!

Google still increases\decreases PR in between public updates. It's not like one day they calculate and then update every indexed site they have.

There's other metrics involved for the algorithm besides PR anyways, even if it wasn't ever publicly updated again. Look at DA\PA\TF, there's still public metrics outside of Google that have consistent benefits of acquiring domains or utilizing pages from.

Tier 2 standards are still social network posts\bookmarks, wikis and forum profiles, and blog comments for easier resources\higher quantity, which are blasted further to those links for tier 3's with social signals on top of that for quicker indexing.

9 tier 1 links may or may not mean shit though, depends on the quality of backlinks from your competitors (essentially domain\page authority respective to the keyword your ranking for), so analyze those and make a judgement call if you need more. You could always add more tier 1 accounts and quality content then 2 and 3\4 at a later time, which would look more natural any how.

Just because G didn't update the public PR doesn't mean they don't use it internally, so PR is constantly recalculated you just see it when they update the public PR.

PR is still a factor, the reason G try to hide it from public is to reduce spam.

Just because it hasn't been publicy updated doesn't mean PR is not updated in googles databases.

Infact google updates PR everyday, you just dont see it

Just because there is no PR update does not mean Google has stopped using it. It just means it has stopped reporting it.

PR of sites change on a daily basis, and only Google has the internal information on this.

So tiered linkbuilding will still work at least for now.

If you recall back in 2010 they only did one update for the entire year so they're track record over the years shows that there's less rhyme or reason to the dates and of course they love keeping everyone on their toes.

I'm sure they track sites that are suddenly rich with link when people are assuming a PR update coming. For me, that would be the easiest honeypot to catch spammers after doing some consistent updates for the year. G will never give this one up. Like guys always loving to have that ruler, G know people need to be able to measure their websites...

Just because there hasnt been an update doesnt mean its not being updated in real time on their servers and doesnt mean it wont be updated again.

This isnt the first time a pR update has taken this long.

Just wait and see. PR of sites changes regularly and PR update has taken this too long. Just because there is no PR update doesn't mean tiered link building does not work.
