No more "reporting" wall posts, now your posts can be "flagged"

I just noticed that on both group and fan pages each wall post by an individual can no longer be reported but instead flagged. Seems like they are learning a lesson or two from CL.

Either way, this isn't good because now it's an automated system and takes a huge workload off of Facebook's employees who would have to go over each report.

Now the name of the game is to figure out how many flags will bring down a post. If you are mass wall posting, you might not see that much of a difference, but I am sure anyone who does wall postings will feel this in one way or another.

Nope, not good news at all. But we will have to wait and see how many flag-happy people there are on FB compared to CL. Depending on your niche and the age range of your target audience, this might not make much of a difference. However, you will have to deal with competition flagging your posts, and flagging is way easier and less time consuming for competition to do than reporting. We'll see how it all turns out.

I agree with you but I must reiterate it can totally depend on your niche and your target audience's age group.

When it comes to flagging accounts, I would recommend using the slew of Facebook accounts built up to flag competitor's account. This way, you can keep track of how many flags are required.

There is a problem with this: Chaining several accounts to flag a competitor may reveal to Facebook which accounts are chained together. I would caution only testing this out on a fan page first since they are a one way opt-in.

Damn, it was hard enough circumventing the blocking that was implemented after a report.. It's gonna be a lot harder to get FB traffic to my adult sites now

FB gonna be harder and harder to monetize but NEVER impossibile !

We juste have to change our methods and think about it. We are humains, not robot, we are not brainless and we will always be able to make some profits !

@DiZZy: Although I know there are going to be competitors trying to take down other people's posts/pages, I wasn't suggesting formulating a plot to do so, lol. I wouldn't want that done to my posts/pages, but I guess the harsh reality is that it will happen one day or another.

@Grizzy: Adult traffic brings heat in general no matter where you are promoting. Especially on the most popular social network where there are an abundance of minors logged in typing away at any given moment. I sure hope you're covering your tracks.

Frankly, I'm surprised you guys are surprised by the move FB just pulled! Didn't you see this coming?

I KNEW FB would go down the same road as CL, based on the same patterns seen in its growth in popularity in the bh world. They have gotten REALLY strict on everything from groups to fan pages, especially this year!


I hope you guys will learn from this. Anytime you are marketing on something and it becomes wildly popular in the IM world, prepare for your marketing costs to increase over time while that particular (bh) traffic medium is hot.

Remember, we pretty much discuss everything we do and how we spam these sites out in the open around here and on other places. And they will use whatever info we post to test certain filters around. I mean how much easier can we make it for them?

Its common sense, esp. for a web business.

I mean, how many times has a FB code been posted only to be "not allowed" in FB tos or "not working" a few weeks or days later?

If you think thats a coincidence, I have a nice bridge to sell you for the low' low'!

Not trying to say this is a bad thing, just trying to get you guys to look at this from a "Big Picture" perspective. Cause its not easy to control.

So Just adapt! If you share information pertaining to how you are spamming a site like FB, don't be surprised when that hole gets plugged up and certain measures are taken.

Here's a hint: Whenever you start to see more and more ebooks, methods, and interest about marketing via a particular medium hitting the forums, get yourself ready and prepared in advance.

Yes, being able to adapt is key because you will always have people posting codes, methods, or what have you on this forum and/or on one of the many other money making forums out there. That's why I have been saying "we'll see."

Could be good news for the more experienced.

this is bad news because it means your domain can be blocked by facebook if it gets flagged enough times. its not like a facebook worker has to manually block your domain himself

Not everyone uses domains, and there are always URL shorteners that they will never block.

Just lost accounts, lol should have read this before spamming
