I have a quick question reg SEO.

With almost all of my sites i've reached a point where no matter how many links i add i can't move up in the SERPS. Any idea why ?

    Some more details:

    Domains 2+ year old
    unique content
    a lot of deep linking
i add links from directories, sponsored reviews, xrumer profile links
i try to emulate natural anchor text (add click here, visit site, etc)

Xrumer, Blast it Off with it!!! The effect of your backlinks might be showing gradually cos the Search engines might be discovering em' in trickles...but try Xrumer and get tonnes of back links at once...

U'll most certainly move UP....or DOWN when it come 2 Xrumer [mostly UP doe]

Don't overdo it with the 'click here' type anchors. It's really good to have some, but you want the bulk of your links to include keywords your targeting. You probably want at least 60% to be targeted anchors.

It's also good to have a lot of profile links, (again because it looks more natural), but for the most part they're pretty weak.

Be sure your doing all these things as well:
Do some article submissions. Don't just spin some crappy articles, write some half way decent articles and try to get them accepted by some of the top article sites. The more authority the better.

Also do some social bookmarking. I usually just use one of the services in the bst thread because they're pretty cheap and its best to have the site bookmarked from a lot of accounts on different ip.

Do blog commenting, try to find blogs that aren't set to nofollow and leave a good comment that has a chance to be approved. Again try to find higher PR blogs.

If your site is good enough and you can present yourself as an authority in your niche you could contact other blog owners and offer to do a guest post. Make sure they'll let you place a backlink in your article as well as in your byline.

Be sure to post as many links as you can on Social Networks. Put backlinks on your profile page, but also post to the walls of friends, and groups on facebook. Leave comments for friends on MySpace. Same things on many of the lesser known sites as well. Post bulletins promoting your site with backlinks. Etc.

Also it can help to include a few outbound links to some real authority sites. It's easy to do that even on a sales page by finding things that support your position and link to a supporting document. Site like wikipedia work great for that.

Also try getting some forum links. Join forums that don't have nofollow set and leave a few posts with your backlink. Include a backlink in your signature if it's allowed.

It sounds like you may be at a point in which quality is becoming much more important that quantity. Don't worry as much about how many links your getting but concentrate more on finding high pr sites and authority sites targeted to your niche. Try to find those quality backlinks in each of the categories I just listed. 100 really good high quality backlinks from a variety of site types will do better than thousands of crappy backlinks.

You can automate any of that, but if you do then just remember you're going for quality. You'll have to really tweak your settings to be sure you're blasting out reasonably good links. To get the really best ones though you'll probably need to do some of them manually as well.

You could also build yourself a few linksilos and build them up as very targeted authority sites in your niche. Do some deep linking to them and even make some linkwheels to them. Give them as much relevance as you can and get them indexed as high as you can. Then post some backlinks on the linksilos pointing to your site as a reference for citations on the page, or authority on the subject, or whatever. That will give you a few of those authority sites you need and you can really fine tune the keywords you're targeting for.

Hope this helps you out some,
    Wolf

Your links might not be as good as you think they are to begin with. I mean, it only takes a few legit links to make up for a few hundred to a few thousand crappy ones.

Graywolf and Hawk are right.... what you should do if see where your competitors links are comming from and get links from the same place.. also its a good idear for you to link to two or three autority sites in your niche..

like if it is a doctors blog then you should link to the uni or college of doctors for example..

2+ year domain is really good.i think you are just adding too many anchor variations.that is all i can think of.the best thing now is to make sure to use the target phrase in more anchor texts.see if that helps.

Change the type of links you are building. High PR blog comments will move you up very fast. 10-20 pr5+ backlinks will do miracles to your ranking. I usually don't care about the revelancy but only the PR and the outbount links. You can use some of the services here on BHW or better try to search yourself. Micallef talked many times how to find quality backlinks.
