I currently have a few adsense niche sites and a referrel site running under godaddys economy plan (4.99 a month, 3 month min) for each. After the 10% off, i paid around 12.50 for 3 months of hosting.

can you honestly beat that? I mean damn... no problems in the past few months and the site is never down. It's not like these adsense sites are getting tons and tons of traffic anyway.

whenever i read on the hosting forums i see a lot of hate for godaddy and a lot of love for hostgator, who charges a minimum of 8.95 a month for their basic package(unless you buy a 3 year commitment for 4.95/m).

i understand for larger sites with BH methods and whatnot hostgator may be the better option with much more space/bw, but for a few simple niche sites godaddy seems ideal.

I am fairly new at the inside details of hosting, but i bought my first domain from godaddy over 6 years ago and never have had a problem with them and recently their hosting.

Just wondering your guys thoughts on the subject.

In my opinion, the primary reason GoDaddy has so much hate directed at them (not just here, not just with bh-er's, but in general) is two-fold:

    a) they are the largest registrar in the world and thus are a "large target", and

    b) their web sites are solely devoted to getting more customers and more $$$ for themselves (and their web sites, frankly, suck in my opinion, but I'm no graphic designer)

Yes, they have made some serious mistakes at times, on individual situations, and I'm not trying to be an apologist for them. Just stating my perspective.

Oh and no I wouldn't bother doing too much BH stuff thru them. But since you posted this in WH, I would say, for WH, they're not that bad actually.
