For people who run white hat sites, are yall still slapping no follow tags on outgoing links?

Or do you have a specific rule that any outgoing link to a website with a lower DA than your site gets a no follow tag, but higher DA sites are follow?

In the last 6 months I've stopped slapping no follow tags on all links, even to smaller sites, and everything seems the same, in terms of rankings. I have no empirical proof, but my feeling is that the notion of "leaking equity" is much less of an issue these days (unless you're a tiny site linking to other tiny or shadier sites).

Curious to hear anyone drop some knowledge here based on experience with their own personal or client sites.

There are only a few situations where I'll no-follow a link:
    1. If I don't want to increase the ranking power of another site, but need to reference it for whatever reason (e.g., CEO Sam's or Charles Floate's websites).
    2. Affiliate or referral links, if the site has any.
    3. Download links (e.g., MediaFire).
    4. Comment sections, on some sites.
I've never run any experiments with removing no-follow tags, though there were times when I removed no-follow tags when I rebuilt websites for clients with no ill effect. Then again, the sites were ranking poorly (some were even hacked) before I worked on them.

well i dont have too much experience as most of my sites don't link out on the regular
however, i have a feeling that a couple leaks here and there isn't the main problem
the real issue is if you leave a couple faucets running
i have a feeling you'd need a huge site to notice the effects
