I'm sure most of you are already familiar with the Nigerian 419 email scam. But recently I've started receiving phone calls from various people (they all sound Jamaican for some reason) telling me that I've won 10+ million dollars and here's what you've got to do in order to receive your prize money.

Anyone else have this experience? I haven't gotten the emails in a while, so I thought the phone calls were interesting. I've heard there are websites that are devoted to mocking these poor pathetic scam "artists". I'd hardly call them an "artist" since they are very, very bad at it.

I was thinking of recording the calls and creating my own website mocking these pathetic losers. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I used to get emails but it's interesting that they're resorting to calling.

LOL. I just got another telephone call. This guy actually admitted he was from Jamaica and said his name was "Tony McDonald" from Publisher's Clearing House Claims Dept. He said I had to pay $599.00 Processing Fee to receive my prize winnings of $1.2 Million Dollars Guaranteed!

He told me I could call him back at (876)860-9649 "Ext. 5" and that if anyone calls me (besides him) to ask for my "package id#" and if they don't give me the correct #, that that person was trying to "scam" me (like Tony isn't? LOL).

I told "Tony" to call me back in 1 hour because I didn't have the money and would need to ask my "parents" if I could borrow the money from them. LOL. Now, I just need to find my telephone recording device. Can't wait to post the conversation online. Should be hilarious.

I just called that #.lol funny stuff.. he told me to call back in 5mins..heh

Tell him your "package #" is 201. LOL. I wouldn't call from my home phone. Maybe use Skype or some other internet based phone system so it doesn't charge you long distance fees. Or maybe it will but at a reduced rate. From Wikipedia: "Area code 876 is the local telephone area code of Jamaica."
