Hi Guys,
I'm doing a bit of keyword research for a new site and having finished wordtracker/google etc etc I decided to look at the forums related to the niche for some inspiration. I've never used this method before so was wondering if anyone had any advice?
Here's a few ways I was going to look at it..
1. Commonly asked questions/threads - This is the most practical but going through an entire forum could be a bit of a bitch.. (if there's any software for this please let me know)...I thought about doing a site: command and then trying to group the data somehow in Excel..
2. Most popular threads - this would give an idea of what people are interested.. it would work especially well if the forum had a "stuff for sale category" as this would be very useful for finding best selling products...
3. Joining the forum and asking loads of questions.
I guess there are probably some common question stylings and terms people use in forums i.e. "can anyone recommend" or "what do you suggest" etc - I could find some useful info that way...
So - Can anyone add to this and if there isn't any software out there already what would be the easiest way of organising a list of forum threads in order to group them?
