Okay, so I registered an adwords account. Paid 5$ for activation and invested 35$ to test an ad for 1 day. I made my cpc 0.30 and chose site placement and quite a bit of sites to place the ad on. Around 4 days have passed and still 0 impressions and 0 clicks. I made a new ad campaign and the same thing. My ads are showing as active and working and I haven't been told that I would have any problems with my campaigns. I emailed adwords but they haven't responded.

Basically their service is not working although it should and they don't give customer feedback. I don't even know what to say. I wouldn't have expected this from Google...

Anyone else had the same problem?

Yep, it's common. New accounts go into review and placement targeted campaigns get additional scrutiny to make sure you're showing 'suitable' ads on someone's site. Also, because it's manual review and a lot of this has been outsourced from US HQ it's taken much longer for reviews/feedback than say 3 years ago.

I once had a similar issue where a campaign seemed to be ''stalled'' for over 48 hours. A quick call to google cleared things up right on the phone, and my campaign was running within minutes. Not sure exactly what was wrong but they fixed it without hesitation...

you guys here should think more carefully and pay close attention to what is happening before simply saying things like ''Google is scamming''.

Compared to other giant corps(like MS/egay), Google has been the nicer one to merchants, users and even freeloaders. While google might be unfair sometimes-accusing a giant corp of ''scamming'' in the real world can land you some serious trouble and lawsuits. Think before you talk, for havens sake.

i live in EU and my inet and phone are all together, my phone uses VoIP.
It is cheaper for me to call to the states than call my neighbour in the next house 50ft away :)

Lol, Google is not scamming you. I had the same problem and I actually called google adwords support yesterday. They are really helpful, believe me! And I only spend 1cent/minute for calling in the US (I am from Romania). Just buy credit from yahoo voice.
Ok, so the problem is that you have chosen some keywords that are competitive and $0.3/click is not enough.
It also depends on the website you are promoting. Maybe you can give more details about this.

I am promoting my domain that redirects to a CPA offer. It is really retarded if I can't see what should I bid, the threshold...I might actually be calling them soon.

I don't think you can do direct linking.

Well, other people are doing it and it seems there no problems with it. Also as I said before, my ad wasn't denied. It shows as active and "on'

I beg to differ. Google is by far one of the least customer orientated companies I have dealt with. Until you start spending big bucks, they completely brush you off. I appreciate Google dearly for the financial opportunities they have provided, but most attempts to get support from are horrible.

Microsoft on the other hand is absolutely amazing. I've spent countless hours on the phone with them before I even spent more than $50. They actually call their advertisers and offer suggestions on how to modify campaigns to be more profitable (keyword suggestions, ad text suggestions, etc.).

Google is a pain in the ass, too bad they control most of the traffic.
But I agree with Tom, they could care less about you unless you are spending alot of $$ with them. And even then you cant be too comfortable.

Are you using text ads or image? If youre using image it can take several or more business days for them to approve the ad regardless if it says active or not. Also, 0.30 may be to low of a bid to get ranking depending on the websites you chose.

you can chat to a google rep right inside adwords, cheaper than calling. However, if you're doing anything remotely against tos, you'll get your account terminated.
