    Hi guys,

I'm dwelling into ranking local businesses on the 1st page of Google for certain niches i.e. plumbers etc. Right now I found a niche I want to get into and rank it on the first page and then hopefully rent the site out to businesses of that niche. However I find that on the 1st page, there are certain sites ranking such as a local news site and a moneysavingexpert forum question.

The questions I need answering are: Are these sites easy to outrank?
Also, how are these sites ranking on a competitive niche?

Thanks guys, look forward to responses.

Yes that means that the nich is probably easy to rank you just need to do a good on and off page seo and you will be able to be on the top.

Most of the time when you see a popular website with high authority ranking for a keyword, it is exactly because of that. High Authority.

The local news site I'm sure has high authority and just as I suspected (and looked up) so does moneysavingexpert.

So, it should be easy to outrank these sites with SEO since they, the search engine, are finding authority but struggling to find relevance.

If you provide so much relevance it will outrank these sites even without the authority. But of course the long term object is to achieve both and tackle more keywords in the long run.

    Good luck!
