Hey guys,

I came accross an article in French which said that Google are working on a tool which will be able to remove the link to your website you don't want.

They claim that as Negative SEO is a major concern from many SEOer they have decided to work on such a tool.

Personal View : To me it is definitly a confession about the fact the Neg SEO is working otherwise they wouldn't even bother. I'm pretty much disapointed that it remains to the webmaster to perform his own manual link removal. One thing is sure, i'm going to sculpt my link profile

Here is an article i found in english :

I don't think they can make a such software :p its just impossible, do you thing the all the web site in the web allow Google to access to there web site's an delete the link? maybe they can create a system which can find the unwanted backlinks an make them uncounted :)

If someone has done a proper job on the site it will be useless, try manually deselecting 50k of links.
It's a token gesture to fend off legal action.

discounted isn't it removed ? I believe it is patatoe or potatoe :D

This would be great, probably really only way how to get out of penguin, but I'm really not looking forward to that manual work.

I dont think, it will work like that... What i understand is you have the option to disavow the links you think is hurting your site. it will be probably integrated to google webmaster tools.

it wouldn't be able to remove the link, might be a tool in Gwt that would let you discount links that you dont want pointing to our site

Would make more sense if they allowed you to choose the links you want to keep, and it discounted everything else.

Are you for real?

However, google will be getting a "lot" of information on sites built to serve links, sells links , or just plain spam.

They're hitting two birds with a single stone.

That depends. The sites where the spammy links come from definitely are going to be marked as spam in their internal database. There's going to be threshold too though, since webmasters might mistakenly mark links as spam.

I don't see how this is going to out websites made to sell links to, the only person who can mark them as spam will be the website owner. For example, If I purchased 50 high PR blog posts from here, why will I mark them as spam? Unless they hurt my rankings? In which case it's a good thing that I mark them as spam, that'll help me as well as the other customers.

Right now, as far as I know, negative SEO is mostly being done by blasting their sites with AA links on comments, forum profiles etc. Which, I don't give a fuck if it's marked as spam, and neither should anyone else.

It helps the legit business owners? Check.
It doesn't hurt us blackhats? Check.
It hurts the negative SEO services sellers? Check.

I don't see the problem with it.

People have been talking about this tool for a while btw. Check this out: http://searchengineland.com/live-blog-you-a-with-matt-cutts-at-smx-advanced-123513

There is also definitely going to be something against people who use the tool a LOT, to clean out the links frequenty. Maybe a manual review, or an unnatural activities warning, to keep the abuse from blackhats under check.

Also, Maybe the links marked as spam at first will get reviewed, and after establishing solid footprints, all the outbound links from that page/domain will be devalued. Or maybe gradual devaluation will occur as more and more people mark links as spam from particular domains.

These are just my opinions, ofcourse.

This sounds like great news, I wonder if they will build in a point system for the links so that you can see exactly which links are rubbish and hurting your site...THAT would be awesome, sure it will mean some manual work but SEOers will control their situation once again (right now we are dependent on the algos). So this will really mean that we never have to worry about algo changes ever again because we can manually select our link profiles. Almost like a sitemap for incoming links!

Lets hope this happens

I believe Google should just ignore these links instead of getting into this whole negative SEO problem.

It still baffle me how many people still think that Google owns the internet. What right do they have to remove links from a webmaster's website? Internet is a playground which Google seems to have a big advantage as a company. Unfortunately Google forgot to know their limits and that is why European union are now giving Google ultimatum to loosen their grip on EU web content and advertising or face serious consequences. Even though that I do SEO, I will never leave myself so porous again for Google to determine how I earn a living. If you have the money and also know what you are doing, mediabuy is the way to go.

They will remove a link to my website? Or they tell me which links are bad and i would have to decide what to do? Makes a big difference since Google won't be able to remove links to my site. lol

It helps the legit business owners? False.
It doesn't hurt us blackhats? False.
It hurts the negative SEO services sellers? False.
It helps Google identify easier SEOs and make it easier to bring another zoo like algorithm update? Check.
Makes easier for Google to force you to use AdWords within 2-3 years span? Check.
Makes Google Win and You the SEO Lose? Check.
Confirms that they've done a crap algorithm and don't feel comfortable to go one step back and fix the crap? Check.

Now sorry, but I just couldn't hesitate to fix that checklist. But really, you want to get your head out of the sand and figure out that Google is not about making your life easier or small business life easier, its here to cash, and to cash big. The trouble between Google and cashing money even from small business are SEOs, don't you feel the sniper between your eyes..already?

google making this tool just to know all scripts and sites which allow to post submitter links. so you will do work for them.

Did anyone read any of the comments on the article? I read a few but this one was an interesting point of view...

That?s stupid thing! So that mean i can first do BH SEO and get 1st page for few days, and if Google don?t saw that i can stay there and earn money, but if Google saw that and pull me down, i just go with that tool and remove that links? So no risk, we all then do first BH SEO?And also how i will remove 100k links?

I know the grammar is bad, I just copied and pasted it as it was.

This is very strange. How can they remove links? Removing links requires modifying a website, and its not like Google has access to all of the websites in the world to modify as they please.

Either this is a translation error, and they mean Google is developing a tool for reporting links and having the system devalue them, or this is just bullshit, and that could really be the actual answer.
