Hey all! I know my username is rxcxdietrich...but you guys can call me rx, RxC, RC, or you know...whatever you feel appropriate!

I came to this site by way of /r/beermoney on reddit looking to fill in my downtime hours at work. I have about 4-6 hours of downtime where I usually am just browsing the net or watching a movie/show.

I'd love to instead use that time a lot more productively by making some $$$ and some very intelligent friends here.

In the past I've used mTurk and rewards sites here and there, but I haven't gotten far with either (that could be due to not working hard on them though ha).

I also fancy playing games and I stream both on Twitch and upload to YouTube so looking into the YT section was an eye opener, but I'm still very new at working hard and seeing the earned results.

I ask for you all to please be kind and help me learn the ins and outs of IM (I think it means Internet Marketing?!) and I promise you'll see a productive member in me.

Welcome to the darkside RC, there are lot of good ideas, you can even do content writing if you are good with words and have patience to read and write.

Thank you lilmasta for the greeting! I definitely want to master the YT section...even if I'm not really consistent with my uploads at the moment.

Likewise to you Campbell. Any suggestions on where to start with the content writing?

Welcome to BHW RC! You could start with iwriter. I used to buy a lot of articles from there in the past

If you'd like to earn from youtube, you can try using the PPD/CPA route of earning.

First, find a niche that you'd like to work on then lock the content that you want with a content locker and earn off of that. It shouldn't be that difficult to do and it has massive capability to be scaled to help you earn more cash as you go. You could probably find better threads to explain this concept to you but you can take this as a basic explanation on this method.

Reeshua - I stream just random games from my Steam account. I don't really have niche on it yet, I'm more into the interaction with viewers. Some of my favorite games are FTL and Isaac to stream, but I've played full length games like Bioshock Infinite and F.E.A.R. If you wanna see me stream, I can't link but it's easy, my name on Twitch is the same as it is here (as is my YouTube). Hope to see you!

AG - I'll be sure to look into those threads more in depth. I may need to a course into what niches are good potential. I usually just play games on YT and that's done to death. So I have no idea what I could branch out to.

If you already have a youtube channel with a decent following, you can probably start by growing your channel and earn money off adsense ads.

AG - I have a YT with 71 subs but I'm not very consistent with the content. (And rereading what I replied with, I'm terrible with grammar and typos!) It may be better to start from scratch or even buy more subs/views first. I'm also with a MCN as well, so all of my money is cut in half at the moment when I do make money with the videos.

Why don't you just become a Twitch Partner? Hone your communication skills and be more interesting?

Reeshua - Ha....I wish I had the time to be a streamer everyday and do that, but as it stands I can really only do about 1 to 2 hours of gaming a week (which is why YT is the better monetization option for me) instead of 2-4 hours of gaming 3-5 days a week. At least with the at most 2 hours of gaming per week I can break down the recordings to about 10-15 minute videos and upload 3 days a week.

Now if I could find the time to sink into streaming constantly...now that would be a fun time! (Plus I'd get more practice at talking to a live audience!)

Forget the content writing idea. It sounds like you have a full time job already, so spending hours to make a few extra dollars on iWriter or something isn't going to kick off any real earnings in IM.

You have experience of uploading videos to youtube, and you have a niche you are interested in - gaming, so I recommend you focus on that to begin with.

Chizz - Ha! I guess I can be known as that! Thanks for the welcome.

djw - Well I have been doing the oft used "Let's Play" and haven't really found a formula that works....yet. And yeah, after looking through the iWriter I realized that it's probably something that wouldn't do it for me. I need to find a way to revamp my YT and get that going!
