I have been reading through this forum for some time and I find that the information here is of high quality and that people are very helpful. Now I am ready to put some of the many techniques into action my self.

But before I decide how to reach my goal I would like to know if I am aiming to high or if it is actually possible.

The site I want to promote is a video based site that is currently ranking #9 inn google. I have achieved this position by uploading the videos to a bunch of video sites and putting a backlink in the description. The content is unique and of high quality so I get some nice natural links too. I have done no other SEO.

Here is the stats for my site:

    PR: 4 - Domain links: 1.260 - Page links: 812

The number one and two spots in google have these stats:

    #1: PR: 4 - Domain links: 45.700 - Page links: 7.200
    #2: PR: 4 - Domain links: 5.980 - Page links: 2.150

Both these pages are subpages and mine is a mainsite.

I think that competition from #1 is too strong to aim for but I hope to conquer spot #2.

Would you consider this possible? Should I even aim for the #1 spot?

Here is what I am planning so far:

I will buy a CONTENT IS KING PACKAGE to get things going. From the reviews it seems to be a very good way to get started.

    And then some social bookmarking.

But besides that I am unsure what to to and in what order. There are many techniques. But what do I do first?

According to my research I have the following options:

    • Article submission
    • Blog comments
    • Link wheels
    • Xrumer profile blasts
    • Press releases
    • Directory submission
    • Rss Submission
    • Podcast submission
    • Photo submission

I will really appreciate some comments so I don't walk in the dark but have some guidens from some of you experienced SEO experts.

    Thanks for a great forum!

Well in this case domain age and overall site authority becomes a really big factor.

What I would do if I were you is first analyze your competitor's backlinks. It's easier to just work on their strengths.

This should be an integral part of your strategy, aggressive backlink analysis and getting those links, if possible even taking theirs off.

Article Marketing is always great but I'm a big proponent in creating something of true value in your site (maybe a section where the videos you have are arranged with information according to a topic, etc) think of something that the user in your niche is looking for.

Then submit a press release announcing this section, find news and blog sites in your niche and do the old school PR. this is how you really move your site to the next level. You should get the links they have and then create ones that would be really difficult for them to get.

Optimize for the long-tail. capture the low hanging fruit with your keyword research. after having a decent bounce rate and #1 rankings on the easy stuff this will definitely help you rank for the heavyweight keywords.

Also for me targeted forum posts and blog comments have worked wonders. I only use SENuke and xrumer mainly for my linkwheels.

build links for the long-tail with linkwheels, bookmarking, social media and article marketing and you will see your overall authority soar. It's not about the quantity of links, is more about the competition in given keywords.

Hope this was what you were looking for.

If I were you, I would try to monetize the site first before I spent anymore time on SEO. If you are on page 1 of google, then you must be getting some traffic so put up your income strategy and see if it converts. if it does, then spend the time trying to raise it.

In my experience, people who watch videos don't convert into anything. They just watch and go onto the next thing. They are like channel flippers. Thats kind of the reason youtube is such a drag on google.
