    Hey guys,

I stumbled upon this site by accident and was pleasantly surprised that it was a forum all about SEO techniques--both White Hat and Black Hat.

I've researched stuff on affiliate marketing, ClickBank, Wealthy Affiliate, and other stuff and I've tinkered with it a bit, but found that I was no good.

I'm glad to see, however, that there are successful people actively contributing to this forum.

So to all of you, I'm just wondering if you could offer me advice on where to start first. I noticed that BHW offers a "Newbie Checklist" for $12. Is that where you guys started? Is it worth buying?

Sure, I need the money, but mostly I really want to learn all the workings of Internet marketing and SEO.

Please offer your insight. I'd rather not get suggestions for things like eBooks or programs which I'd have to pay for, but if you truly, really believe in it or if that resource started your way to success, then by all means suggest it.

I'm a college student who just started his Winter break and I'm free until January 4th, so I have some time.

Hi mate! Welcome to BHW :D, you should peek around some sections here and pick a method you like and try it yourself. Everything works with some twists and all you need to do is trial and error. If you don't have so much time (1 month is not enough to learn "all techniques" lol), you should chose some methods that can drive traffic to your site as fast as posible (try social networking: twitter, facebook, myspace,...). Don't focus on SEO if you're new in this war game.

All total IM noobs, go to the e-whoring section of this site and read the stickies. Work, work, work always be doing something or making something and spend very little of your time reading, because there's an infinite amount of material and you can not digest it all as a newbie. Just stick to the basics and actually WORK with the e-whoring method.

Bottom line, If you can't make at least 10$ a day doing that within 2 weeks time don't even bother trying to do IM because it only gets more advanced/difficult from there. IM isn't for everyone and it's certainly NOT a shortcut to megabucks. Good luck.

Yeah, I know that I can't learn everything in 1 month. It's just been really hectic for me these pasty couple months and to finally have some personal time is very freeing and next semester is my last semester in college, so I don't have many difficult classes either.

I just want to use this 1 month to be the time I dedicate to learning where to start.

    Thanks for your suggestion!
