    OK first of all be gentle...I'm new.

    I've spent many weeks reading, downloading and digesting as much information as I can, and also purchased several nice bits of software.

    I've decided that my first lunge into trying to make some cash from a website would be using the amazon associates system. I found a nice domain name which seems to have a decent chance of getting some hits;

    http://www.portableharddiskdrive.com

    I found it using micro niche finder, as the phrase "portable hard disk drive" seems to get a faior bit of traffic, and obviously the domain name should help.

    I've created a wordpress blog on the site, and intend to continue to post 2/3 articles per week (unique articles) as well as using wp-robot to post the latest portable drive products from amazon using my assoicate ID.

    I just wondered if some of you experinced guys could take a look at my site and given what I have said above, do you think I'm going about things the right way?

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    If it were my site, I think I would replace the favicon with something more custom. Just make a little icon of a portable hd. It's a small thing, but would make the site look more professional.

    There's no need to have the author and avatar in the byline at all. Maybe still leave the comments link, on this site thats just your preference as to whether you what to allow comments, if it were mine I would remove it.

    I think I would leave the post date in the byline, but only if your planning to keep adding updated reviews fairly often.

    To the right there are 6 hard drives....clicking on those takes you to an amazon page showing the latest portable drives (obviously using my affiliate ID).

    Every 12 hours a blog post is created with the latest amazon products with a description and any reviews people have posted from amazon. Clicking these also uses my amazon affiliate ID.

    Is that the right way to be doing it?

    That sounds like a pretty good model. Adding content that often should keep the googlebots crawling your pages a lot.

    I think if you make the few changes I suggested to make it look a little more pro. Keep the content updating the way you're planning. Then start working on building backlinks, you might have a winning website.

    IF your updating as often as you are then the date is fine It would be nice to get rid of the author and the from link, but thats ok, it is much less distracting than it was. The comments are cool how it pulls them from amazon so you want to leave that link and the date.

    I'd get to work on the backlinking now. Start getting some targetted traffic and you might make some money with your site. Good Luck

    My eyes hurt! Alot of writing there bro. Why not have the homepage explaining briefly what the site is about, or maybe some brief information on hard drives/the latest. Then have different pages for more information, such as "In depth detail of..." "2010 latest.." etc.
