    Hi there,

My name is Emmett, and I'm kind of new to the whole online marketing, SEO, thing. I wanted to get some help or tips on how I could start a campaign, I guess, or where is the best place to start. I know a couple of things, not enough to get started on my own though, obviously. I'm 16, and have no start up money really. I would appreciate any help whatsoever.

    Thank you for your time:eek:

Start writing, get good at it. Write for others until you make enough cash to invest in tools. Learn the tools and keep writing in order to have more money to cover running costs. During all this time keep reading here and see what others do for money and try things for yourself.

I was looking into the people paying for article writers, and it interested me because I did see it as an opportunity to make some start up money.
I do plan to spend as much time on here reading and trying to learn.
My problem with writing for money is if I did that, getting the money since I don't have a bank acc, or anything like that. Any suggestions?

what country do you live in? is there a reason why you can't get a bank account? you should be able to if you're 16 years old?

I'm in California. It's mostly about getting my parent to agree on letting me have a bank account, which is the hard part.

do you have a part time or after school job? if you got one, then you'd have to get a bank account anyway, so maybe that's an idea?

(by the way, i don't know about the US, i'm in australia, so i'm just wondering if it might be the same?)

I'm looking into a weekend job yes. I think you're right and the bank acc would be needed. I'm trying to get that figured out.
I mostly just need tips for getting started, like Damage suggested. I'll start writing, for one.

do you know anyone that has a credit card, that'll let you use it? it would cost you about $15 dollars to get hosting and a domain, if you want to start your own site? that's an idea as well.

you could start a blog of your own (there's HEAPS of info on here about that).

edit: you could actually get free hosting, and a 99c or $1.99 domain if you had a look around!

Emmett, open a PayPal account, I believe you can do so without a bank account or a credit card. Your account will be unverified for starters, which means you're limited in terms of how much money you can receive at once/monthly. However, I don't think you'll exceed that limit initially, so you can simply use it to collect payment for articles. You can verify that account at a later point. It's quite possible that your parents will actually let you have a bank account once you show them that you're actually making some money.

With your PayPal earnings you can buy yourself hosting, tools and services you may need. But again, your first two steps should be opening the PayPal account and starting to write.

You can also get in touch with me once you're offering writing services, I can always use more native English speaker writers. :)

I would advice you to pick a niche first and create your blog around it.

Once you become capable of handling the optimization of your blog, you can start monetizing it.

That's the thing, what exactly would I be trying to do with the blog or domain? I wouldn't know where to start haha.

That's interesting, I'd never thought of that. I'll look into it later today, but I'll definitely be interested in writing for my start up money. Thank you for the offer, I will take it, we can talk about it later too :)

Dont read too much.. There are endless piece of stuff to read and you will soon see your self 25 years old and still reading.

So, Choose a Niche (Article Writing, SEO services, Creating & Managing a webiste, CPA.. etc.. The niches in IM is endless)

-> Read about that niche -> See how others have done and get some ideas -> Make a plan -> Put a strategy into place -> Start implementing it right away and never give up or get distracted with other ideas. 100% finish what ever you started and hit that hard.

If you fail, try something else.. never quit. You will be successful. Good luck. Let me know if you need any help.

    Cheers.

My question here is, how exactly would creating a blog about that niche eventually get money? CPA? How would I get the blog up on the ranks? Forgive me for the ignorance, it's just I'm really new to this stuff.

I'm pretty much decided on article writing to get some start up money, at least for now. Once I got a decent amount of start up money though, what would I do then? Research another niche and ways to make money with the article writing money I already have? Like I posted to Kaithe, please forgive my ignorance to this stuff. There are certain things I understand about IM, and then there are other stuff I don't lol

Don't put the cart before the horse. Your #1 priority at this point should be to research how to do good writing and how to get clients. Which in a sense you should already have for free, since you're a native English speaker.

Focus on that for starters. I know it's easy to get ahead of yourself and think "what next" before you even get done what you should do first. But try to be a little patient, do your writing, and keep reading on here. You'll get A LOT of info, which you will slowly learn to assess for what's useful and what's not.

You really should be reading the forum.

Only you can find the truth.

Only you know what subject, or what type of IM is best for you.

I sense the force is strong in this young padawan.

You simply have to read in here and find a method you like and try it.

don't try to follow someone else. It's too risky, and don't expect anyone to tell you exactly what to do either.

There are other teens in here younger than you making bank. Find them, network, learn as much as you can WITHOUT asking questions.

Did you know that every single one of your questions here are needless? Really actually this forum has answered your questions hundreds of times.

Think about this, if you are so lazy that you will not even find the answers how can you do the work needed to make money in IM.

The truth is at your age you are golden. Dude you could promote soooo much at your highschool etc.

PLUS at your age everyone wants to give you a chance. Learn some webdesign OR go out and tell ppl your building sites now, then find someone to pay you then find out what they want, come on here to the services, get a bid, and you are good to go. Just make sure to only always use ppl with good reputations.

    Peace.

I guess I do get a little ahead of myself. I'll focus on one thing at a time. Speaking of which, you said I could get in touch with you for writing articles? I'd like to get started with that :)

You're right about the needless questions, i guess i just felt a little lost. I'll try to learn as much as i can without asking like you said. :)

Start writing and hone your skills, then try to look at the sources where the big guns are making their money. SEO seems like a good place to start. If you have a visision of what people do and how they think to do stuff then that kind of thinking can get you places. To get started writing does sound good then as you go along try picking up some other tricks of the trade.

I'm 18 now and I started 3 years ago. So that's 15. Some say don't read too much, but I say never stop reading. I would have saved so much time if I read/learned enough about proper SEO. Two things I learned:

1.Purchase your own hosting. Using a free host as your main money site will only slow you down in the long run, and possibly screw you over.

2.Hone your writing skills. Google loves unique/easy to read/well written content.

I originally started making money with Sharecash, which is probably one of the easiest ways to get money as a noob. YouTube + Blogging + Sharecash (or any other content locker) can be your best friend. There are numerous threads in the Black Hat SEO/Blogging section that will be helpful. I recommend you read the more popular threads available.
