newb question about hiding refer URL

Hi All,

Quick question - I know of quite a few hide refer URL 3rd party services available whereby you put their URL e.g. hide-refer(dot)com?www.myurl.com

This may be a stupid question, but how can you be sure they won't steal your traffic e.g. what is to stop them changing your final URL to one they choose on every 10th refer or something like that?

There is no way to be sure. Easiest way, make your own url shortening site and use that, the scripts are pretty easy to get hold of. Reg a domain, host the script, shorten the url, hide the referrer, safe in the knowledge that you are not stealing your own traffic.

Then, if you fancy, promote your site and steal other peoples traffic
