newb proxy question

Hey I just had a question about using proxies. I got banned from DP so I want to use a proxy when I go onto DP now.. How do I use a proxy? I tried adding one into foxyproxy and it worked for like 10 seconds and then became too slow to even go to DP.. Do i use http proxies? or socks?

You can use either HTTP or SOCKS proxies. To use a proxy, there are directions which are stickied at the top of this forum. It sounds like you are using public proxies which are generally very unreliable due to the fact they are often compromised computers.
 
Use only good proxies.
I use socks proxies. I don't use http proxies.
 
I know a few will tell me I am wrong but if all you want to do is browse DP you could just use TOR with firefox. TOR is so simple and can change your IP at teh drop of a hat, very ideal for light browsing.

If you really want to get around the ban once and for all you should be able to just reboot your router and get a new IP from your ISP automatically, that does depend on your connection though (assuming some form of DSL or dialup with a dynamic IP).
 
i dont know if u guys are familiar with sockscap but its a good program to let u surf anymous...i have a macbook and i have that option by default in safari
 
I second sharpies's question. I want to sell shit on DP and I CAN't get banned.. again lol.
I have a static IP :( so I can't just unplug my router (lame).

I also set up a proxy in firefox like the sticky says, but when I do it always fucks up.. I think I am just using shit proxies but I was using the ones from proxy-heaven.blogspot.com

I guess a better question is:

What's the best program to hide from DP. I want to sell on DP and was banned once before but CANT get banned again.. I could use manual proxies but they are slower than TOR 4 some reason. So if you know if SocksCap is good for this, or if there is a better program (preferrably for mac), or if you know any good proxies for DP, that'd be awesome!

public proxy lists are crap for such stuff imho, they are good for hit and vote fakers but not much more (If you can't spare a buck they are better than nothing of course).
I'd like to sell you cloakfish but it won't run on a mac :-)
So maybe look for a private proxy ? mrtornado from here sellst hem as example.

When you buy private proxies try buy them from trusted sources, not from the larges sites as some of em are not trustworthy.
 
can someone point me in the direction to find out more about what proxies are, and what are the best ways to use proxies? I know people are saying that Craigslist has blocked proxies and such. I have been using HideMyIP and it does work, but i have no idea if these IP address's are crap or if they would work on Craigslist so I can post from different IP address's there? Anyone who is bored and wants to educate me - Please, feel free to PM me! Duh, I am a new soul in these black and dark halls of learning!
 
Try different sources for a small batch, then decide. Trust me, I have contacted quite a few of them the past few days, they ALL claim they are legit and great. Old saying. Seeing is believing.
