As the title states, this is a no nonsense semi-guide to get you focused on a project that you will enjoy and feel good about. This will not be a get rich quick method, this is a way that you can make some serious money for many years to come. If you do this properly, sitting down at your computer will be fun and making money will come completely naturally. It might take close to a year to see good results (depending on how much you work at it), but it will happen if you stick to it.

    Making Money Online
There are thousands of methods to make money, but many of them are short term pump and dump schemes that will be outdated and worthless in a very short time. There are only a handful of online money making methods that will never be outdated and they will always be profitable.

This method is simple, but for some reason it is the last thing new IMers try. It's called picking a niche subject that you love and know a lot about and building an authority site about it. Stop with your link spamming, stop your shitty PPD where you are causing people to get viruses on their computers.

Building a website around a subject you love WILL BE SUCCESSFUL

Here is why this is a timeless method and even Google will love you for it. When you are passionate about a subject your readers will notice, you can see it in your writing. Honestly, how much do you love writing about Chicago Mesothelioma lawyers? You fucking hate it, and people reading your content hate reading it.

When you get your website started about the perfect subject you will be overwhelmed with good ideas about how to make the site better. You'll have endless things to write about and content will just flow from your fingers. Before you know it, you will have a 100 page website that google simply adores. Google will love it not because you spammed links, but because when people read it they feel compelled to share your awesome articles (sure a little SEO might help:). They will rank you for just about anything you want within a matter of days.

You can read all day long about how to do PPD on youtube, and how to sit around all day spamming craigslist for $6.00. At the end of the day what have you done to ensure your future in IM? Nothing, you made $6. If you want another $6, you will have to spam the fuck out of another craigslist area. While you spend a week making $20, at the end of the week you have absolutely nothing. While you did that, guess what I did? I built another wall in my internet authority site empire. An empire that will rank forever and will never be closed down like your PPD youtube account was. Day after day, year after year, while you scrape by making a few dollars a day?you could have been building your own empire that will make you a shit ton of money for the rest of your life.

The Beauty of the Authority Site? But You can't build Rome in a Day
I started a website in 2013 about a subject I love and know a lot about. I took lots of pictures, reviewed a lot of stuff I had laying around my house and suddenly traffic started coming. I said to myself, holy shit! people are digging this. I kept going, I started a how to section, a tips and trick section, a video tips section etc. etc. Then I added adsense ads. Started making a few bucks a day, then I found out about amazon affiliates and added that to all my reviews. Added adsense to my videos, Created a youtube channel about my website. Ordered products from china and started branding them with my websites catchy name. Sold those on Amazon and in an ecommerce sub domain on my website. Then, 3 years later I do whatever the fuck I want, whenever I want because my website just plain makes money. I will literally drive around the US for 3 months at a time partying like a rockstar by night and when I wake up around noon, I'll go to a new spot (related to my niche) and write about it for my website (and its still fun!).

Doesn't this sound a little better than PPD and writing about mesothelioma lawyers or payday loans? It won't happen overnight, but you will wake up knowing that everything you created is not only enriching peoples lives, but nobody can take it away. If you do something stupid and get banned by adsense or amazon, there are hundreds of other ways to make money with your site.

Once you have a good website to always fall back on, then it's time to try other risky pump and dump methods. Your eggs won't ever all be in one basket.

    What Not to Do
Don't risk your empire with shitty spam links. If you want to build links to your site, tread very, very, carefully. Only buy links from sources you trust. If you must, wait until you have saved up money for a huff post link or similar HQ link. Don't risk your website.

Sorry, I'm out of time. Hopefully this motivates a few newbies and gets you on the right track to making real money long term.

Very insightful, yes it is the easiest thing to do: do what you love and you will never have to work a day!

Sadly the IM newcomers are VERY desperate to get Wall Street rich over night, by spamming pron to promote free cam offer?

Anyhow, I have read tons of success about writing a legit authority site, travel bloggers made six digits income, Youtube self hosted cooking show ...etc. There's nothing that's more dreadful than looking at yourself in the mirror and feel like shit because deep down you know this isn't going to be permanent, this is just a quick fix, and often failed miserably.

Props to you OP, I'm actually building an authority site as well, nothing fancy, just domain, hosting and tons of new contents surround the subject I love, no avant-garde BH SEO or Sen*ke, just me and my fingers dancing at night, right before I sleep.

Can you motivate me somehow by showing how far have you made with your site authority site? :D

    Cheers and congrats :)

Shephard, glad to hear you have a website bun in the oven in a niche you enjoy.
Yes indeed, Everyone is good at something even if you are just a bird watcher, love to hike and look at flowers or making pottery out of clay. Whatever it is that you do, other people want to hear about it. Hell, even most of the Indians on here could make a killing by sharing their recipes and cooking food on youtube for authentic Indian food. I'd watch those videos! It probably isn't the type of thing most people would think to do, but everyone's niche is right under their nose.

We're all trying to use hicks and tricks to get out there, but it all comes down to temporary & crappy methods to get quick cash. Am sure a lot of black hatters here want to set something up that will last and make them proud. At the end of the day I always say; offer something you'd enjoy yourself, and something that'd be valuable to the community. This would inevitably bring success, not overnight but it will.

But I really do love reverse engineering simple traffic generation strategies and monetization implementations ...

Nonetheless you've presented a well-constructed and reasonable sentiment here that many of us strive towards daily. There is no denying though that once you go blackhat ... it's hard to lose the thirst for quick easy money.

I satiate my need for quick easy money with penny stocks mostly. I might not always win, but the gambling feeling of potential huge gains is there. I have done plenty of blackhat stuff too, I totally don't frown upon blackhat at all. To me it just doesn't feel quite as good as sitting back and looking at my years worth of work all coming together in a well constructed website. I also like the "stable" feeling it offers over many methods that can crash at any moment.

I was thinking this, my problem is I start too many projects that I can't keep up with.
If I had a chance, I would throw everything away for 1 huge site.
Once I sort things, this is 1st thing on to-do list, already know what I'm going to do, against who I am competing etc.

If only it was really as easy as you make it seems. Yeah its possible but its a lot more to it.

The biggest being the cost of buying links and writing good content.

Buying quality links that can pass a manual review will cost you thousands of dollars and most people wont be able to write good content.

Im still working on my first kinda large site and I've sank 2k into and its only 25 pages big and the links are only average quality.

Yes, writing good content can take some practice. As far as links go I have only built a few to my main authority site and it currently has hundreds (including some sweet .gov links). This website was ranking pretty good before I had any links, I just worked a lot on it and it just kept ranking.

I also mentioned that building a quality youtube channel would be good too. If someone can't write good content, hopefully they can speak clearly and build a steady income doing what they love on youtube.

I can see your point that not everyone on BHW is capable of pulling this off. Most do seem like they could with some extra effort and motivation.

Quality post mate. Entirely agree. My most successful projects are all in areas I enjoy. The ones that have gone nowhere are in areas that I have no passion for. You've made me to reconsider one that I was about to start. So thanks!

Thanks for the great words. I definitely want to make an authority site someday. I have been sitting on a great domain since 2003 for which I had this purpose in mind.

A great post. A lot of this seems like common sense, but it's amazing that it isn't. A lot of good insight here, and I've actually written down some notes for the future. Thanks for your contribution!

Nice writeup, especially the part about not building rome in one day.

People always give up and expect instant success.
