Anyone seen negative effects from the new Youtube policies? I think they updated yesterday and the changes have come into effect now. I am not noticing any change.

I can see anything in their statement about watermarks... is this changing?

look at this for asummary:

Wow that sucks if that's the case, I have many provocative videos up right now, have not noticed any effects, that really sucks about the thumbnail and most viewed changes.

In addition, thumbnails will be will now be algorithmically (ie randomly) selected in order to cut down users who manipulate frames within their videos in order to get a provocative thumbnail to appear with their video listing.

Shit. I'm not so worried about the sexy videos, but the thumbnail thing is interfering my plans, and i think most of pll promoting on YT

I have thought about youtube's move here and i am certain that this comes off the back of the story a month back that was saying that hulu.com has 5% of youube's traffic but commands more ad revenue from big corporate advertisers because hulu is more professional and youtube is perceived to be full of amateurish junk videos. what corporate advertiser with deep pockets wants their brand associated with videos of booty shaking? they are tying to monetize youtube and they think they cant until they remove all that stuff.

My personal take on the impact of this is on us:
1. regarding thumbnails: there is not so much you can do here to fake what is in the video... that game appears to be up now. for the surfer that was pretty annoying anyhow.

2. regarding 'no adult in most viewed': this will affect people using tube increasers most of all. minimal damage to people doing organic growth. my interpretation is that this is not in place until your video gets flagged then allocated 18+.

3. crack down on multi accounts - if you are switching ips and changing text/vid between posts, how can this affect you?

4. they may be doing more hand reviews now like the way metacafe does.

Personally, i havent seen any impact on my vids. i will do some tests today and wait and see what happens.

i have reviewed and not seen any major problems so far, no deletes for me.... hmmm

I can't help but feel that this was a publicity stunt to throw to potential advertisers and make it look like they were cleaning up

Youtube has severly crack down on me. My videos is controversial- conspiracy theory. It contains no sex or graphic images or obsene lanuage. Blatant censorship.. booooo youtube

my accounts were deleted yesterday. all 100 of them. i bought them from some guy here
and didnt even use them, cause i was keeping them to get older. the guy i got them from claimed they were made using different ip's and whatnot. i have no idea how that might have happend. sad.

I spoke to soon all my accounts now banned. Youtube is fuck n up big time, however i suspect this will motivate me to sharpen my black hat skills. A lot of commotion around this

slam them

Well most of the time authority change to policy to make it more strict, lets see whats in case of youtube.

I have music site for an upcoming artist. I got a song that leaked from a DJ mixtape. Youtube will not allow it.

In the long run I think it might actually help the site. Usually when these songs come out there are 20-50 of them on youtube. Currently there is one that actaully went through and others that where not allowed.
