Today we see a new player in the arena of bots that target wikis for backlinks.
And what a strong entry it makes.

It's fast. I didn't even use it at the max number of threads but it ran through a list
of 1000s of wikis without any issues in no time.
It's rock solid. When reviewing products I try to find weak spots that should be fixed before I give my approval.
Couldn't find any here. The bot didn't crash or left me staring at the screen with nothing happening.
(disclaimer: I witnessed this on my Win7 64bit system with my connection to the Net. This doesn't mean there won't be situations
where the experience is different.)
It's feature rich. Everything you need to manage your campaigns and wikilists is provided for.
For a full list check the salescopy.

I tested the bot with the wikis from the Wikibase that is offered for a small monthly fee.
Success rate with an immediate submission and a scheduled submission was great.
The scheduler works as advertised. When the bot isn't running at the scheduled time it will catch
up once started again. Every step can be scheduled. Account creation, account verification, posting and link checking.
I also loaded a list of 1000s of wikis that I scraped. It was a "raw" list because I wanted to know how the bot would handle it.
The bot filtered the dead sites, gave me the platforms and PR without problems. Success rate with imported list will of course depend
on the quality of the list.
For a hassle free solution that gives a high success rate the Wikibase subscription is the obvious choice.

During my review seller was still working on the detailed manual. Imo no problem because there's no learning curve.
But here's a little tip for the content part of the bot.

We all know now that link diversity is important. There's a field in the content part to add a link to the article.
This field accepts spintax as well and by using it wisely you can create a great mix of URL's and anchors.
In the content field it will look something like this:
More {info|information|advice|important reading|tips}

Good luck with your sales vision2003...

Thanks for the approval, blackhit, and also of course for a more than thorough review. :)

An update has been released - WikiRobot 1.0.2:

 • added new image captcha type for MediaWiki and fixed question type captcha solving for MediaWiki (wouldn't work in some cases)
 • added a setting in Options/Captcha for question/answer type captchas - now a manual solving pop up will show when using captcha solving services/software
 • added filtering options for project sites and unified it with WikiBase filtering options (now both show as a separate tab)
 • improved duplicates checking (WikiRobot now considers urls with and without slash at the end as duplicates)
 • improved automatic determination of sites for posting
 • some minor WikiBase bug fixes
You can manually trigger the update process by going into Help / Check For Updates or by restarting WikiRobot.

I downloaded the trial and I wanted to test a huge list of mine but it only allows me to add 500 sites.
As an interested user, I'd recommend you to let users test your app, with no features limitations, even if that means to reduce the trial time.

So far I liked the UI and the customization options you provide. I'm always looking to get the best apps and WikiRobot looks appealing to me :)

Looks interesting.

How many sites are there in wikibase right now?

Hey,
I am getting this exception and app crashes losing all settings on trial mode.

There are currently 4001 sites in WikiBase. Since we got lots of these questions we'll release a breakdown on our website today - I'll let you know.

I'm glad you like it. The issue with your suggestion is that software in this niche gets cracked rather quickly. License checking isn't that hard to crack but other limitations (like site limit, projects limit) are much harder. You could also just run WikiRobot in a virtual machine and keep resetting it which would mean you'd have a fully working copy for free, all you'd have to do is reset your VM every 5 days. That's why we won't release a trial without limitations. Besides WikiRobot trial is exactly the same as the full version with the exception of the 500 sites and 1 project limit. I think that's enough to get the idea how WikiRobot works. On top of that we offer 30 day money back guarantee, so if it's not your cup, you'll get a refund.

Looks like a write permission error, but we can't really help you if you don't submit the crash report. We need more data to see what's going on. Also please send us log.txt file located in your WikiRobot installation folder (it's usually C:\Program Files\WikiRobot\). Thanks.

As promised, because we were getting lots of questions about WikiBase, we're providing you guys with Platform, PR, Do-Follow and Captcha breakdown of all the sites in WikiBase: http://www.wikirobot.net/wikibase_breakdown.aspx. Those stats are always fresh and are being refreshed with each new WikiBase push to the users which happens every 2-3 days.

All that data is of course also available inside WikiRobot.

Looks great - I'd suggest being able to buy the 1 licence for $97 and a second for $20 more or something -- because these days I always have one licence on my VPS and one on the laptop - its not that I use both all the time mainly the VPS - but I like the second licence for emergencies / travelling or for the unexpected.

I am getting an error "Couldnt open database. Check if Database.sdf is present in installation directory and is not open by any other process" I checked the instalation directory and that file is present. Any solution?

I totally agree with you and do know what you mean. We've had this requested by a few users already and we do offer additional licenses for $47.

We've had this reported by one of our users who installed WikiRobot on a certain VPS but we can't replicate the issue on several of our VPS-es. It seems to be an access permission issue at the VPS. Could you please send us your log.txt located in your WikiRobot installation directory to [email protected]? Thanks.

I have sent you the log.

Received. We've already pinned down the issue with Sephirot. The problem was that he was using Windows XP with Service Pack version lesser than 3. WikiRobot needs Windows XP SP3 to run successfully.

Hi,

I have a question as both a Wikibomber user as well as a former wiki list seller. Your software pricing is okay imo. But my question is with wiki base. The more guys use it (Most will use for spamming their tier 2 from my experience) which leads to a very fast way to lowering the overall success rates. How do you plan on tackling this situation when it arises?

This is the issue that wikibomber has their inbuilt list is spammed so fast that the success rate drop in 2-3 days after a new list update is done. Would like to know your solution to these and if I like how it goes, I will be sure to buy in bulk licenses which reminds me, will be wikibase be shared for all the licenses that I hold or only the one that it was purchased with?

This is a good and fair question. Before I answer this let me say that we can't and don't guarantee any number of sites in WikiBase as we can't predict the behavior of the market.

With that said I can't really comment on Wikibomber's inbuilt list since I don't own it and don't know their methods. But as far as it concerns WikiRobot we took the task of list building very serious. We have a couple of dedicated computers running a completely automated process of scraping and testing of wiki sites 24/7. We push a new WikiBase to our users every couple of days (it's not a fixed schedule but lately it was every 3 days). This way we ensure that all the bad sites (sites that for example had a registration page removed because of spamming) get removed and good sites (e.g. new wikis that popped up or wikis that opened registration again) get added. Also keep in mind that we will be adding new platforms to the WikiRobot which will result in more potential sites and growth of WikiBase. Simply put we have perfected the list building process and try to do our best for WikiBase users. If you are really skeptical you can purchase a monthly WikiBase subscription and just cancel if there ever comes a point you're not satisfied with it anymore.

WikiBase is shared with all the additional WikiRobot licenses. Just make sure to drop us a mail and we'll raise your WikiBase activations limit.
