I've been hearing many whispers of PBN deindexings going on lately. I know of at least one large public PBN and have now heard three private networks. Can anybody confirm this trend?

While they deindex one PBN, ten new PBNs are born.

Mostly the big PBN's are their target, but this won't stop those big boys.

Public ones are really walking the edge there as they are exposing themselves so it makes sense that they get nailed unfortunately. Any private ones that get hit have to be doing something that exposes their "purpose in life" which is usually more on the owner of the network as opposed to the Google police.

But, like Aty said above, when one goes away, 10 more spring to life.

I gauge this sort of thing by the number of BHW threads created on the subject. Judging by it, yes, there's been some PBN busting going on.

The methods are fundamentally the same.

The Adwords conspiracy is probably one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. You know how search works right? When one person falls, another one takes his place. So, there are always 10 people ranking and banking. One person is forced into Adwords, and the guy who took his place now gets to lay off of Adwords and let the money roll in.

Its not as dumb as you think. Large companies like Best Buy and Amazon plan their marketing (Adwords) budget ahead of time, usually in Q1 (meaning any shake up right before November is too late for them to change budgets regardless). Small companies, however, tend to fly by the seat of their pants and don't set aside specific budgets for Adwords. This means smaller companies CAN be shook down.

When these mid-season shakeups happen it almost never effects the big boys. But it does shake up the smaller and mid-range sites.

Sure, for every organic slot the move down one takes its place... BUT consider this: If a company (company A) is spending $5,000/month on Adwords and is making $50,000/month profit and suddenly right before the Christmas season they gain massive rank to page one and are not on pace for $75,000/month do you think this will make then spend LESS in Adwords? Fuck no. That is dumb to think that.

Company B is spending $5,000/month on Adwords, making $50,000/month. Suddenly right before the Chirstmas season they get hit by Google, which pushes them organically to page 2 and cuts their profits to $37,000 a month. FUCK YES that company will VERY likely increase their Adowords spend until they can figure out how to recover the lost traffic. Company B can't afford to lose a ton of traffic right before Christmas so they are FORCED to attempt to BUY more.

To think this isn't a realistic scenario is naive. Google should well know this and if you watch how they time certain shake ups out it appears to me to at times correlate to such time tables.

Its no different than the stock exchange and brokerage houses, churning of the market benefits Google. Plain and simple. I'm sure Google runs correlation tests. If they don't they're stupid.

Holiday season or no season, it hardly matters as Google has already changed their tagline of "Do No Evil"
