Can anybody shed some light on it:
I created a new twitter account and started sending direct messages. After 4 messages the account was suspended. I could easily get it back by "promising" to be a good guy, but I wonder Twitter says 250 DMs allowed per day. What might have gone wrong?

    thx
    Eric

with new accounts you'll always get blocked, it's best to wait a few days. I got blocked after sending 10 tweets and following 200 people. Just wait a few days before dming next time you create a new account.

from personal experiences ive had twitter accounts suspended simply from tweeting too much too soon after creating them. i think you need to wait a bit before doing too much activity with your account. I was tweeeting once and i tweet'd @ 2 people and got suspended for that :/

twitter as many other social networks is quite strict with new account due to too much spam, grow it slowly, make sure your profile is complete, not just the name an start posting, make it look as legit as possible

They are strict with new accounts.. Even if your account is old, doing things like following 200 people in a day or unfollowing 200 people in a day can get you banned.

Just build up the account slowly. It will be bad if you rush.

This happens to new accounts. I guess the guys at Twitter are testing if the new accounts are really important to the new users. Just send them an email saying that you haven't done anything wrong and they will reactivate it.

I guess your account was linked to a previously banned account via cookies, IP. or maybe you were sending links via DM and those links are blacklisted as spam.

Yes I send tweets on this account. Maybe it is really because it is a new account.
    Thanks for your answers.

You should be very careful with a new account. First tweet a bit during like a week, then follow some people very gently. Wait a couple of weeks and only then start DM'ing, very gently as well.

Remember, Twitter oftentimes suspends even real many-years-old accounts of real people, so don't worry so much if your account gets suspended.

    This.

It takes a bit of time to build up a Twitter account so it won't get banned easily. If you're trying to DM alot it might be worth building a number of accounts slowly and building up your number of daily DM's rather than trying to jump right in.

When making a new account, I usually follow 50 or so people guaranteed to follow back, and let the account sit until it ages enough before I try moving forward with it.
