Over the last 2 days, I've seen on my blog an influx of spam comments, some more spammy than others but all spun, with the URL pointing to a facebook profile.

The facebook profiles are personal profiles, not pages, and have no links on them. Here's a couple of real examples:
    /profile.php?id=100003406025551&sk=wall
    /ion.ava.1?sk=info

Does anyone have any idea what it's all about and how it works? The only thing I can think of right now is perhaps they want you to add them and then they'll try and sell you something, scam you etc whilst pretending to be a friend but that seems a bit farfetched and I assume it's more SEO, but I can't imagine how.

    Any ideas?

Probably SEO, reputation management or something. Trying to give the pages some link juice so they can outrank other properties when the persons name is searched? Have a look at the profile names in the SERPS and see if stuff is ranking above them.

The profiles all look quite fake though and none of them have timeline and you can't even add them as a friend.

This is one I got today:

    Facebook URL: /imam.daudi?sk=wall

Their comment: Hey Mr Smitty,You once told me to be a successful actor, one needs to read annhtiyg he/she can get their hands on . Who are the authors and what are the names of their books that all actors should read. their was at least (4) books you mentioned to me. ie; the audition, improv thanks a heap.
(it was on my music blog on a professor green song!)

    Just got another one...

URL (obviously fake, no picture, no timeline etc): /profile.php?id=100003406033496

Comment: When you say thigns like Evolution says thigns just randomly popped into existence or Evolutionists think it's all just a big accident , don't you understand that you are describing not SCIENTISTS' view of evolution, but your OWN? No scientist says It all just happen by accident and such rot. It's easy to create a parody of somebody's actual position, make it look ridiculous, and then claim you have demolished their position. It's much harder to do the actual work of first UNDERSTANDING the other guy's point of view and THEN critiquing it. I have yet to see a Creationist write anything that shows he or she actually comprehends the theory well enough to be qualified to rebut it. When you attack straw dogs like Evolutionists say it's all random and we got here by accident , don't you see you just make YOURSELVES look ignorant?

I thought it might be perhaps so you approve one comment and lots of blogs (mine included) are set so once you approve one comment from an IP, it autoapproves all the rest so then they can spam the f*ck out of you.

The facebook comments I've recieved have been very spammy anyway though so I can't see it really working.

Anyone else got any ideas or even been doing it themselves?
