So for the most part have figured out the facebook business manager utility. I'm working on setting up my first campaign for my steampunk/goth shopify store. So about the pixel code, I have already pasted the 'base pixel code' in the theme.liquid header (which i believe is where you are suppose to but please tell me if otherwise)....but I'm not certain about the shorter specific event codes for the pixels, I'm mainly looking to just install purchase event codes for now (while getting use to this) so do I add that in the header of theme.liquid? or somewhere else?

The other thing i'm wondering about though is in regard to audience targeting with a campaign. Pretty easy figuring out the general audience targeting 'tags' for everything in my catalog on my website. But wanting to narrow it down a good bit more for specific products on the site, add or do away with different certain tags per different product. Like I don't want to use the 'form shaping corsets' tag for the different pocket watches on the site. So for each campaign I do based on specific products, should I create a new pixel for each and add that to my theme.liquid? How many of pixel scripts is safe to add to my site? Or is there an easier way to go about doing this for campaigns and such?

Like I said I'm very new to facebook ads. Any general advice is also very welcome or links to some articles/videos on this (most videos i'v seen didn't answer these specific questions for me). Thanks very much awesome ppl of bhw forums!

Purchase event pixels should be installed on the page where the customer goes after he made a purchase otherwise all the visitors visiting your website will count as a conversion.

You don't need to have a pixel on every campaign, the pixel is for tracking specific actions from your visitors.

General advice: when doing facebook ads, it's all about targeting. Common sense will help you a great deal if you apply it, especially when you are just starting out (copy what's your competition is doing and try to do something even better).

Pro tip: Even if you know what you are doing, it will cost some money to get where you want to be.

Pro tip no.2: Don't give up and have fun :)
