Hi all.. I'm new to CPA, and was instantly accepted by CPA ***lead.

After reading as much as I could here and elsewhere, I've setup my very first attempt at a CPA movie site. I was hoping for a few pointers and a little feedback, no matter how harsh :)

My site is a Wordpress based blog, showing movies of an old UK based series called The Tripods. I've embedded all of my movies via Veoh, and have a tease time of 6 minutes before my gateway appears. I'm not expecting to make much money (if any), but just want to make sure I'm working along the right lines.

As for promotion, I'm posting a few links on YouTube on relevant videos, roughly stating that I watched the whole series at mylink.com.

My site is at TheTripodsOnline dot com, and as I say, I'm open to all feedback no matter how harsh. This is my very first attempt at cpa, so any advice or criticism will be taken on board most gratefully.

    Thanks in advance!

    Overwhelming response.. hah, no worries.

I'm still fumbling and learning, and have a question. Does the domain matter too much, if I use a .TK (or other forwarding service) forwarder? IE, if my domain isn't relevant to my content, could I watermark youtube videos with something like watch-movies-online.tk, and have the TK forwarded to my-irrelevant-domain.com? I can't see why not.. I don't want to buy a domain yet until I've learned a little more about what I'm looking for here.

I believe movie sites are not allowed there anymore.
And why 6 minutes? How much time do people spend on your site? Make it a minute and see if anyone completes a survey for your content.

on the domains side of it: NEVER use free domains, several example on this forum, when it is taken by the owner/registrar.

Buy $1 .info at godaddy. And you have the controll on ur domain. Buy 5 .infos, and u get the private registration free as well.
5 .info domain cost like a pint at Wetherspoon, innit m8? ;) so dont be cheap and get your domain taken...

    Thanks!

I set it for 6 mins, as I think that's long enough for people to see all my videos are proper and complete - and perhaps begin watching one, before the gateway appears.

I'll try for 1 minute.. I only set it up yesterday and have no clicks yet, but I uploaded a load of watermarked YouTube clips today and should hopefully see a little increase.

All I'm looking for with this is to learn how CPA works, and once I've gotten to grips with it, I can maybe try a more professional setup.

    Thanks again.

1 min is to long time. If you play the video in full size the gatevay will appear behind the video so you are free to watch the hole video without doing a survey. Set the teaser time to 0.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

I just wanted to know I'm along the right lines - tweaking, promoting and improving are the next steps! I'll look into new hosting too. I'm with bluehost just now, and they're expensive. GoDaddy seem much better, and as has been mentioned, the name cloaking is a big thing for me.

    Cheers again!

I've also decided to try a splash widget as opposed to a normal widget. Any thoughts as to pros/cons?

I'll monitor things over the next few days and see how it goes.
