I can't believe the judges fell for this kind of bullshit, no one is going to be using a regular printer to start making and selling pirated version of books.
Someone should appeal it in court asap.

It's a sign that the media corporations are getting too powerful. They have a similar law like this in Sweden already.

In Germany you have to pay 18€/month ($23) because you COULD use a TV, radio or internet. No matter if you even have those devices. But hey, if you are blind and deaf or have dementia it is only 6€/month... Conclusion: I'm not wondering about anything anymore.

They are only trying this because people just aren't interested in books anymore, so they came up with a bs theory about how a home printer could be used to make copies of books.

I never have been to Europe, but every time I look there is a new tax or regulation on that continent.
It amazes me how you guys that live there can breath with so many restrictions. America's bullshit is to much for me at times
but it always seems to be chasing the regulations passed in Europe.

Where I am currently living there is no VAT tax or sales tax and a very very low income tax yet the Government is not in debt
and people are generally happy. Makes me wonder how the heck countries (Including my own) end up in spiraling debt, unhappy
people and more taxes yet broke as hell.

    Cheers,
    Unclemike

Not all of Europe has bad taxes, Bulgaria has 10% income tax with income from profits earned on EU/EEA exchange considered tax exempt. Both the UK and Ireland do not tax winnings on sports betting.

So depending on how you earn your money you could end up paying less in total taxes than most countries with no sales tax.

Meh.....funnily enough the countries with highest tax rates have the lowest crime rates.the best medical cover.roads, transports, general infrastructure. That's generally how tax works.
