After u get indexed in google, how long does it take to rank anywhere for your keyword?

competition with quotes is low, with only about 250k.

I used to set my sites and forget, but now I created some new ones and only after a month it ranks for "Top search queries" with keywords mydomain.com and site:mydomain.com

    it has 250 backlinks, ~5 with ~PR2-3.

In my experience, around a week to 10 days to be ranked... providing you do the normal methods that are mentioned all over BHW.

After it's listed mine tend to get a decent position but then go backward and sometimes disappear completely... this is what's called the Google Dance and seems to last for me around 2-3 weeks, before the site comes back.

So as things stand, I'm giving each site around 4 weeks from when I try to get it spidered, before it settles into position.

Mine, with aggresive promotion, usually took 1-3 days to get indexed and 1-2 weeks to get ranked. There's high risk to get sandboxed or even banned by google.
To lower the risk, i also do moderate / slow promotion on some of my sites which took 5-7 days to get indexed and 3-4 weeks to get ranked.

my site got indexed after ~3 days then it got deindexed then appeared again after ~2 days, then it ranked for mydomain.com then it was gone and shit continues to do this all over again. I got single anchor text in 70% of these backlinks but it doesn't rank for that anchor keyword.

btw i use google webmaster tools to check.

There are hundreds of factors in your question. Everyones answer is going to be different. It depends on your keywords, competition, aggressivness on promotion and many other factors. I respect your question but I promise you no answers are going to be just a like and your results will probably be different than anyones answer.

Yes, about a month....it took that long to get #1 on Bing (top listing) for the keywords
"get website traffic" and "chronic anxiety" without the quotes. And a little longer for the #1 slot on Google for chronic anxiety.

    *Build good quality backlinks.

I've stated the competition and promotion so I thought people have experienced same thing in similar situations, and knows how long it takes.

If you could look at the numbers you gave us and easily determine how well you could rank for your keywords then everyone at BHW would be dominating the search engines. I can't tell you how many times I thought that the niche I was researching looked like one I was successful with in the past only to find out that its not even close. I promise you that even if the numbers are very similiar the results are almost always different.

oh well, I just noticed that I was checking google.co.uk competition, google.com actually has over 1 million :D

I also checked some of my other sites, in which google webmaster tools says they are not ranking for anything, and I googled my keyword and see my page in the first page on both google.co.uk and google.com

I guess its just google webmaster tools that are slow as fuck.
