New site, in a very weak market. Lots of attractive SEO services here. Can anyone recommend a service THEY HAVE USED for a brand new site. Willing to spend for the right service for the right results.

I would highly recommend against loading up on SEO services with a brand new website. At the most consider a press release or perhaps one or two guest blog posts on actual blogs with real traffic in your niche.

Build your site up organically so that it's one of the best around for your users, and once you're established and have a small amount of top-quality backlinks THEN consider expanding your link building efforts.

    Thanks Tangy.

I've done that before. Blog posts, my own backlinks over several years and achieved success. With this site I won't blog on it. Also, since it's a commercial site I need to get found before people will value it.

And...can you recommend a press release service?

SEO Service depends totally on what tasks you'd like done. What works for some site won't work for yours since the strategy would be different! Sent you a PM regarding Press Release services. Cheers :)

If they're within your budget, OP, PRWeb and PRNewswire are good ones.

Which is most effective to help the SEO for a new site? I hate to have to ask so many questions. Like I wrote, I developed a blog site the 'traditional way' with lots of good content attracting readers and backlinks and reaching very high in my niche. Now I'm starting a purely commercial site with no blog and little changing content (blogging on it would not be suitable). I'm willing to spend within reason to get some help to get the site SEO going.

Well, both PRWeb and PRNewswire come with options that will send your press release to a number of online media outlets. Not many followed links, but a lot of links nevertheless.

With this, you'll be increasing your link velocity quite dramatically (from what I can gather about how you've built your site thus far). Think to yourself, what would justify this sudden increase? New feature to the site, important news etc?

In terms of actual SEO value, to be honest, the most value you get out of a press release nowadays is the followed link you get on the actual PRWeb/PRNewswire sites. There's not much more value beyond that one link nowadays, and I think both offer a service that will just put your article on their site and no others, which might save you a bit of money.

As for service, there's little to choose between the two. I've seen PRNewswire get a better scope for AU/NZ clients I've had, whereas PRWeb has performed better for UK. If you're US based, not sure which people here prefer, but you can't really go wrong with either.

Are there any recommended PR service companies or it is better to go directly to the 2 large ones written about here?
