    Hello!

Let me introduce myself and explain my situation.

I'm Currently finished coding a new website, nail oriented. Not really selling anything, but wanting to make a 'nail-community', partnering up with nail-businesses and site's, and earning of sales directed by my site. I don't know the potential. To be honest I did finish an education as a programmer, but never went further then the actual programming.
It isn't online yet, I want to translate it to Dutch first. May add a bit to the site after launch. Got a chatroom, a forum, to keep it fun. More to the point. I'm struggling in my mind. In fact I like my site, my layout (may not be complete error free but it's okay.) It has some functions. You may call it a nice site for the eye. At the moment I got no mobile part though is this necessary?

As you can see I am not really that new to programming, but I am with publishing and monetizing. I'm close to with the hands in my hair about it, but I really want to learn to make a succesfull site and not just coding a site. What better place to be for it then here. I don't think there's a place where more people making money on the internet are then here. I've seen people make money in the most creative and absurd ways. I just need to know how to put a site online and make it work, instead of just coding and selling. And all I'm asking for is just a bit extra. I don't need crazy loads of money like I see you guys get, 10s of thousands per month.

I figured that instead of brainstorming until I'm bald, maybe I could ask you guys about it. I don't know how it works here so forgive me if I'm asking crazy things but is there:

    1. Anyone that could give me tips, or even lead me in the right way to get some visitors and eventually cash out of it.

    2. Had to delete this one because it was about partnership.

    3. Anything else?

If this ain't the place place to ask about this no place is, I guess!

No matter how, any information & help is really valuable. As I considered giving up, especially after trying for a while, seeing so many people from here succeed and I am still without idea's. I figured that trying to learn from you guys, eventually becoming one of you, would be the wiser thing to do.

No matter what, thanks for your time and your knowledge you are willing to share that you worked so hard for to get.

    1. traffic is the holy grail of internet marketing, read all the good threads on driving traffic (white hat)
    2. BHW doesnt allow "parternships" outside relevant section (edit your post before you get it deleted)
    3. Dont give up, keep trying until you succeed, and then scale it up towards a decent income
(dont be fooled by appearances, 80% of bhw members are not profiting more than $xxx per year)

    edit:
    read this for starters :)

You can get traffic from Social Media, Search or Buy it
A lot depends on site & content quality as this defines if a user will be back to your site.
If you plan to get some cash out of it - buying traffic can be good investment if done wisely.
I also have a site about nails and this is a pretty good niche and topic, simple suggestion - go to Pinterest, as there's good female audience.

I want to thank you for your warning, I´ve changed it instantly but want to point out that I really appreciate you telling me about it because it took me some time to write it.

So only in the forum about partners it is allowed?

Your words give me a feeling of conficence thanks for your words! Seeing it's not just me but everyone that has to work before reaching something, is good to see.

I guess your right. I guess 80% are in training or learning just like me, with only 20% of the experts. Your post was valuable.

Fun to meet someone that choose the same topic. Would you be interested in sharing your site with me?

I'm Currently finished coding my new website, nail oriented. Not really selling anything, but wanting to make a 'nail-community', partnering up with nail-businesses and site's, and earning of sales directed by my site. I don't know the potential. To be honest I did finish an education as a programmer, but never went further then the actual programming. So I'm close to clueless where to go after coding, which is why I made this topic. Also changed the first message of this topic including this text.

As I am not a nail-designer or anything though, I'm not sure whether an instagram etc. would help me. What would I offer, just random pics?

Thanks for your pinterest tip! Any other tips regarding this niche, are very welcome.

Not a nail person either, but that's a good niche to land female traffic on and monetize.
Regarding pictures - check what other people do, what the trend is and do the same!

    Thanks for your tips!

Is it just me or don't people like sharing their site publicly on blackhatworld? Any reason for it? Anyhow, if you feel like it, I would like to see what you've made to learn from. If not, thanks for the information you did share. I never were nor will be interested in nails itself too.

    Hi

I'm no expert on the beauty business but from what I'm told by my niece who has her own hairdressing and beauty business.
Nails are high labor and low profit items. and like the newsagents business. They have to sell papers and cigarettes to get the customers in. Then try and sell them high profit items.

So use social media Facebook pinterest and instagram for your traffic posting mainly about nails. But also
have content about more profitable beauty and care products/

One of her most profitable small items is a surgeon who offers botex treatments. She lets a room in her salon 2 hours a week. and it pays for all her expenses.

You should look at hooking up with something like that and other .specialists

You are a programmer so i'm sure you can actually geo locate and set up appointments etc

Think outside of the box and make your site fun and interesting

    Appreciate your tips !

My site will be more about selling nail polish different colors etc. Is the profit that bad with that? So if I decide to focus on partners that sell their polishes and I get a part of their profit in return, I may miss out compared to more profitable products? It may be something to think about.

@se900se how do you relate to this?

Thanks for your fair share of tips anyhow and have a pleasant day!

I was wondering whether I should start this topic but doing so appears to be a good idea, because I have already learnt alot from your tips which I shouldn't have thought of alone. And I still got some topics to read. I'm happy :)

So I'm getting closer and closer to finishing. It's going to be social-mediaish. A lot of functions for users to communicate with each other and update a TL.

I'm really excited and I am wondering what steps you guys would take in my shoes.

Thanks for your time have a wonderful day.

Young people (30 years and below) surf the web mostly via mobile phones.
Given the niche this will be 80%-90% of your total traffic? If so you need to aim for mobile with your design.

It's a great thing that to drive traffic to your new site. Use some social media to drive traffic to your site. Also, use some social bookmarking sites too. Give some useful tips about your blog and which must be attractive to the people who are looking for the details which you shared.
