I created a new site about a week ago initially created 3 articles for the website, all unique content, all around 500-700 words long with pictures. The site has Yoast installed but currently with Google's XML sitemap plugin for plugin. After I created those initial three articles I shortly there after verified the site and tried to submit the sitemap to which I had a problem where it would keep saying couldn't fetch in the new Webmaster Console or just stuck at pending on the old console (I have a separate thread about that). So anyway after about 2 and a half days 2 of my 3 first pages got indexed and everything was looking good. Then yesterday I created 3 more articles and then submitted my sitemap again, and tried to submit each of those 3 new article urls in the search console. And then a few minutes later I noticed my site was no longer indexed in google the original 2 that first got indexed were not showing up, and now 20 hours later nothing is still indexed. Is this normal in the current Google state ?

Yeah I find for a week or two my pages are in and out of index. Just keep pushing content and building HQ backlinks.

It's been this way for at least a couple years now. Just be patient. Also, submitting sitemap everytime you post something is not exactly going to help with the issue. Just be patient and let the stuff work out naturally. That site won't make any money for a few months at least anyway.

Made a new wordpress site lastnight, just a couple posts to start. I added my sitemap to Google webmaster and same thing with it just saying couldn't fetch under status after submitting. But I noticed a few minutes later my domain was indexed but none of the posts still.

I think since your site is new, it would take additional time for your indexing to be stable. There is also another instance where you may be referred to another Google search engine/datacenter, which has yet to carry your site's indexing information, and that is why each search could be different - sometime you're there, sometime you're not, as the data could be coming from a different google datacenter.
Build links, and that will ensure a solid indexing on the search engine.

This gets pretty annoying, made a new site about 6 days ago, it got indexed about a day later. Then 3 days later out of index.

It is common for new sites wait for some time it would be indexed.
