I run Win 8 on my laptop (came with it) but personally I think Windows 7 is the best.
This should be patched up soon but as with any new softwares there is got to be security holes.

This is in my humble opinion ridiculous and should not be (in itself) a reason to avoid using Windows 8.

The "hole," if it is even used, will probably not be used by the government or any other entity to target the vast majority of us.

That has to be the single-most stupid fucking comment I've read on BHW, ever.

Perhaps. But I don't believe that myself or the vast majority of the members on BHW are significant enough to be individual targets.

The entire article is full of hypotheticals. This could happen if the government or some other organization decides to do this or that assuming that it works.

I'm not denying that there may be a security hole; I'm just saying it isn't enough reason not to use the OS.

If you do some "really" shady stuff and/or piss of the wrong guys where "they" have a interest in it, use linux, VPN, Socks 5 + public internet & crypt your whole devices aswell.

Only this way you are well secured, as long as you don't have anything in your hardware, but that might be the chinese if so.

It's just..very, very sad for real investigating journalists, whose are very few nowadays.
