ATTENTION: THIS SCAMMER USED MULTIPLE HACKED CC TO TRY TO PAY ME FOR SOFTWARE!

His username on BHW is http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/members/3594-cash.html

Here are the 2 transactions he made from UNAUTHORIZED paypal accounts.

    His IP Addresss: 76.110.84.246
    His Yahoo ID: dpleads12
    His AIM ID: stockizmoney

We made a deal for software, he attempted to pay me twice with hacked paypals and they were reversed both times.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS SCAMMER! He started acting indecent and crass when I asked him about it. He cursed and threatened my household. Paypal has an open investigation which I am currently cooperating with.

    Please heed my warning.

    Thank you for your time,

    Bodeezy

It will be recalled that someplace on this very forum a guy was looking for a script which would allow a PayPal user to pay multiple PayPal users at once.

I commented that the whole idea was a scam and I think that your unfortunate experience has proven me to have been correct in that assertion.

The object of doing work for others, selling a given thing or providing any sort of service is to GET PAID.

The real problem is STAYING PAID!

This is why if you do not know your client well, you MUST insist on payment methods which cannot be reversed or scammed.

    Western Union is your friend!

You can offer to split the $15.00 WU sending fee with your client.

If your client balks on that one; fuck him!

The client is probably trying to scam you anyway!

So you have to drive over to the grocery store to pick up your money??!!!

At least you get CASH and they can't screw you out of CASH!

After you get to know someone and TRUST them you can accept PayPal or credit cards.

Believe me, I know how much damage a PayPal reversal can do to your finances and I know what I am talking about; I have done over $100K through PayPal and have had my share of problems!

You don't know the guy; "Fuck you! PAY ME!"

I'm sorry if I sound cynical; I am! There are just TOO MANY scammers out there so if you want to keep your hard earned money, you MUST insist on a method which does not allow the client to fuck you. It is not your fault if the client buys a product which he/she is too stupid to use.

It is not your fault if the client engages in magical thinking and finds that the product is not what he/she wanted!

    You are NOT WalMart!

If you have been straight with your client, you are 100% A-OK in refusing a refund for ANY reason! There is NO LAW which says that after you have delivered a product or service that you are obligated for a refund, unless....

you have accepted a credit card or PayPal and then it is not a law but rather the Terms Of Service of the CC or PayPal which go into effect and fuck you out of your money!

Did you know that under PayPal regs, the "buyer" has 45 days in which to file?

Did you know that even if the 45 days have passed and if the client has paid through PayPal using a credit card, the client may have up to several YEARS in which to contest the payment?

Yeah, Baby and if you doubt me to look at the TOS of the major CCards!

In any selling situation unless the seller is a scammer from the get-go, the CUSTOMER is and always has been the FIRST LIAR!

Ex: A guy walks into an appliance store over lunch and when the sales person asks how he might help him, the customer says, "I'm just looking!" and then heads STRAIGHT to the refrigerators! Want me to translate this for you?

This means that the guy's fridge at home has shot craps, all of his food is in styrafoam coolers on the kitchen floor and his wife has sent him out to buy a new one!

Now this guy knows fuck-all about refigerators but is too proud and too scared of getting ripped off to talk to the only guy around who does know anything about refigerators.......the salesman!

And to make matters worse, the customer has probably been reading some "consumer" guide which is published by the manufacturers themselves so we know what that's about!

Consumers also grant themselves all sorts of "rights" that they don't have and the one of which I am especially fond is the chimerical "Three Day Right Of Recission".

There NO such animal EXCEPT in in-home selling in which the salesperson has intitiated the first contact! Doubt me? Check it out!

The job is not done until you get paid but in the world of credit cards and payment services, STAYING PAID may be more difficult than selling the product or service in the first place and you must remember that CCs and payment services are ALL about the customer, NOT the seller and they will zap your funds faster than you can say, "I'm fucked!"

All I'm saying here is "COVER YOUR FINANCIAL ASS!"

    My $.02.

Thanks very much for your thorough and valuable response. That's very venerable of you. I can only hope to avoid this situation in the future and your kind advice is considered.

We have good customers, and we have bad customers, it's part of the business. I can roll with the punches. I'm definitely going to use a bit of your elaborate opinion to increase my security in transactions. I appreciate it man.

    Wow!

Thank you guys for your kind reply to my post!

Usually when I write or say things like what I have put in the above post people tell me who mean I am! I probably do read as though I am a bit jaded but my opinions come basically from personal experience and are founded in The School of Hard Knocks!

I once had a fellow buy a thing from me for about $200. He kept the thing for 6 months, fucked it up and then charged it back through his CC. When I contested the charge, telling the CC company that he had not returned the item, he sent it back UPS COLLECT with a $55 charge attached! And this was OK with the CC company as all they wanted was a tracking number to show that he had sent SOMETHING back to me! He could as well have sent a wrapped up brick! To get my thing back, I had to pay not only the chargeback but the $55 as well!!!!!!!!!!

On the other hand, I once got revenge on a scammer in a de Luxe way! A guy bought a car from me on eBay and after the auction told me that he was going to wire me HALF of the money and pay the other half when the car was dockside but that he needed a title to get started through customs and would pay when customs had approved the export OK, I says to myself and had him wire HALF of the money via Western Union. I then sent him a title with a LIEN attached, which meant that he had to pay the other HALF before I would release the LIEN and the LIEN had to be released before the car could be shipped or Customs would allow it to go out.

What he wanted was to get the car to Customs and then NOT pay me the balance!

He screamed like I was twisting his, well..you know!

After about 3 months of me using his money, he asked for a refund which I denied on the basis that he had tied up my merchandise for that period of time which essentially cost me the other half of the money. Of course, the day after I sent him the title showing the LIEN, I ran up to Motor Vehicles and obtained a duplicate title which cancelled the title which I had sent him so his title was invalid anyway and the car never left my garage!

Later I found out that he had scammed about 20 other eBay members using precisely the same method so I lost NO sleep over this deal!

Anyway, I could and probably should write an e-book about how to NOT be scammed and may well do that but again, thank you for your very kind comments!

Your ebook could be very useful especially to newbies. I have heard that people have lost money using Paypal but unfortunately there does not seem to be any better payment gateways out there. If there is I would love to hear about it.

    well said Uptownbulker :)
PayPal is good to deal with trusted people, if you want to receive big money. Otherwise, I'd use alternative payment methods like western union, e-gold, wire etc.

I've got scammed twice from a buyer with paypal, but still paypal is the fastest way to collect money. One thing to minimize scammer practice when you using paypal and selling digital product is send the download link to the customer paypal email. And don't forget to mention it in the sales page.

Im sure your ebook would be a great help to newb's or even people that have been in the business. Its a shame that you would even have to deal with this shit.

Also thanks for the info darkart, I will start doing that.

It sucks that we have to resort to these crappy methods of getting paid and ripped off, if there was an alternate solution i would be down with that. But i dont think that there is. If anyone has some better ways then please advise all of us.

    Thanks

Excellent replies. Thanks for the personal stories Uptown, very enlightening. This guy is still begging contact with us. We aren't interested obviously.

I just got off the phone with paypal (any of you who have called paypal support share my pain I'm sure) and they were NOT interested in his IP address (which I have) or any additional information from me! I offered my full cooperation and I all I was told was that it was being investigated and I'll get an email.

I'm like... investigating? By turning away one of the persons involved with NO request for information? Wow... Just wow...

    Paypal = teh suck

Paypal can be a B*tch. I had a couple of chargebacks selling on ebay. Most were international orders and then nothing outside the US was confirmed. Problem was I was selling about 50% outside the US and the only way to get payment was paypal, it's a Necessary evil for online business.
I did get past a scammer once because he was greedy, He would wait until he got his items and email saying he never received them. I had another ebayer email me to tell me he and 3 others were already scammed and paypal just gave him back his money, no questions asked. I called paypal and got the same response as Frequency, we are looking into it. So I reversed the scam telling him to just give me a week to reship the same items. I never sent anything, the time limit passed and he couldn't screw me.
Like you said, when I talked to paypal they said they would look into it but none of the oters got their money back. Paypal knows they have sellers by the grapefruits so they take advantage. Problem is without it you would lose far more sales then the few scams you get.
    just my 3 cents ;)

Thanks for the warning man! We're here to make money not get ripped off. I like your suggestions of alternate payment methods. I hadn't thought about e-gold but I'll keep them in mind.
