The site I have that was hit is pr3, and everything I added to it was indexed in 5-10 minutes. It's been 2 days since I posted something that hasn't been indexed yet. The rest of the site is still indexed, so it's just pages that are added after the update.

Is this standard with a penalized site? Is this an indication of a panda hit rather than an EMD hit?

Is anyone experiencing the same problem with their penalized EMD? Or are your new pages still being indexed?

I think you are worried over nothing at the moment. Sometimes Google takes a long time to index things.

In my experience this is not standard for a penalized site.

the EMD change only affected 0.6 percent of search results. Personally, I would check your website's on-page SEO, your keywords, and your page load times and see what you can do to improve. Bots will crawl your site if they both like the content and see new fresh content.

Honestly, the only EMD sites that were affected were both non-relavent and junk content sites.

Spun articles does not = good content ;)

I had actually noticed a few of my private network posts aren't getting indexed as quickly, they're mostly EMD's. I don't check their rankings though - only their level of indexing so don't really know if they got hit.

I'll dig around and get back to you

3 of my EMD sites were just downgraded with about 200 positions in SERP. Penalty maybe means just a lose of ranking and there is no problem for new pages to be indexed. That is my suggestion.

The website's on page is fine, and has over 50 400+ word, hand written pages on it, and content is added regularly (which for the past 2 months have been indexing in under 10 minutes). When a website goes from indexing every new post in under 10 minutes to going 3 days with no index, I think it may be some new information about a new Google update. That's why I made this post - I'm not complaining about indexing taking too long lol

It has nothing to do with EMD's, it's all about the truthworth of your site. Basicly all that google did is stop giving such a high rank factor for EMD's - that's it!

At this point I am thinking you are right.

Google hasnt penalized EMD's, which would be a near impossible task without penalizing every site, but have removed the obvious benefit they were getting.

I've said this so many times: This is a penalty. If these EMD's just lost their "emd" power, they would only drop a few ranks, they wouldn't go from #1 to #1000.

Also, if it's true that all they did was take away the EMD advantage, then 301 to a new domain would help, because it would pass all the positive link juice.

The new page was indexed after 4 days. I'm 100% sure the reason for the slow index is because of the penalty. The only logical reason for this is that G lost all trust in the site, and it seems like I have to gain it back xD
