Until yesterday i had a good traffic and 59 domains pointing to my website.
This morning at 4h00, webmaster tools updated the number of inbound link to 69. At the very same moment, my traffic almost entirely dropped to zero. I checked the 10 new domains and they are ok. 50% of them come from blogspot and wordpress. They are not banned by google. I have the feeling there is like a penalty. It is strange because 10 domains is only 15% of 59.

Did this happen to anyone here?

Maybe because it was seen as unnatural backlinking overnight.

I'm not sure what is happening but I have seen MANY changes in webmaster tools from the amount of keywords they say i'm ranking for to the amount of backlinks pointing to my sites.

This is really strange - only 10 extra links (well, we need to keep in mind that Google shows less links than website actually has) shouldn't cause that. Were you building links aggressively in the last few weeks?

10 may seem like nothing, but it's a 15% to 20% gain overnight, all from free blog hosting.

Sounds more like a sandbox than anything else. If the site is new, and the backlinks are low, a sudden influx can trigger such a temporary situation.

It's possible that your rankings/backlinks are just being re-evaluated. This can cause a Google dance. Unless your rankings are MIA for an extended period of time, at least a few weeks, than it's just a normal occurrence.

Changes happen time to time, we need to get to be updated to know more about how this links are penalized or why ranks drop off in a sudden. In getting links of its high quality we do not disregard on how this links are built, most of us consider handmade quality links. Getting to know more about links i can share you a book about killer link building which has open me to new opportunities in backlinks. To get a copy of this same book I am reading i can send it to you for free. just pm me then.
