Is it just me, or does every show on FOX except Family Guy suck?

Like, I saw an ad for something called "The Mindy Project", it looked like garbage.

A few years ago, I made a resolution to stop watching so much TV. It's just that for every second I find myself sitting in front of the TV (either at a friend's house, or in some public place where a TV is on) I can FEEL myself getting dumber... This was probably 2006 or so that I quit watching. Nowadays, TV sounds even stupider. I haven't even seen what's on now, but it sounds fucking dumb. Granted, I do watch some TV shows, but I download them and watch them commercial-free. And they're mostly older shows (pre-1980)

I have tried to focus more on productive things, or things that develop my skills in some way. I've replaced TV with things like:
    - Working on IM
    - Exercising
    - Practicing my foreign language skills
    - Practicing my musical instrument
    - Reading books, or educationally valuable material online

It has done wonders for me. I don't miss those idle hours in front of the TV one bit.

EDIT: I have to amend one thing.. Idle time is not necessarily bad. It's actually good for you to have SOME idle time, I think. I spend some time each day sitting out in a reclining lawn chair, preferably with an alcoholic beverage and a little bowl of fruit. I think it's important to have some time every day where you think about nothing at all. TV is not idle time; you are soaking in information pushed to you by advertisers and writers (product placement)
