New FOX Shows SUCK!

    Is it just me, or does every show on FOX except Family Guy suck?

    Like, I saw an ad for something called "The Mindy Project", it looked like garbage.

    tv in general sucks. all it does is distract distract distract. that being said...I'm guilty of watching tv from time to time :)

    A few years ago, I made a resolution to stop watching so much TV. It's just that for every second I find myself sitting in front of the TV (either at a friend's house, or in some public place where a TV is on) I can FEEL myself getting dumber... This was probably 2006 or so that I quit watching. Nowadays, TV sounds even stupider. I haven't even seen what's on now, but it sounds fucking dumb. Granted, I do watch some TV shows, but I download them and watch them commercial-free. And they're mostly older shows (pre-1980)

    I have tried to focus more on productive things, or things that develop my skills in some way. I've replaced TV with things like:
    - Working on IM
    - Exercising
    - Practicing my foreign language skills
    - Practicing my musical instrument
    - Reading books, or educationally valuable material online

    It has done wonders for me. I don't miss those idle hours in front of the TV one bit.


    EDIT: I have to amend one thing.. Idle time is not necessarily bad. It's actually good for you to have SOME idle time, I think. I spend some time each day sitting out in a reclining lawn chair, preferably with an alcoholic beverage and a little bowl of fruit. I think it's important to have some time every day where you think about nothing at all. TV is not idle time; you are soaking in information pushed to you by advertisers and writers (product placement)

    I think TV is over commercialized at that drives me crazy.
    Really I do not watch TV.
