    Hello,

When you are making a niche website from the scratch do you buy expired domains or start a fresh one? If you buy a expired domain, what kind? For example what are you looking for? Obviously no spammy backlinks etc, but what should the domain authority and age be?

Did I make a mistake by starting a fresh domain one month ago for my niche website? I am ranking few keywords in page 2 and some in top 50. That's with only on-page SEO and one backlink to a specific article.

    Thank you!

I wouldn't say you made a mistake by going with a fresh domain but I would almost always look at the expired domain options before deciding what domain to go with in the end. If you can find a good expired domain to meet your needs you would almost always be better off buying that domain, even if it were at a higher but still reasonable price.

It depends on your needs. If you a want to very safe, fresh is better but the journey will be longer.

What I would do in your situation? I would buy expired domain and work on the site to see if the expired domain works. Better not waste your time thinking of the missed opportunities.

There was a guy on here that bought an expired domain & he was getting 200,000 monthly visitors. Crazy to think about, but test your luck.
