Something strange happened today, and unfortunately I can't replicate. I closed the browser . Probably I was part of some A/B testing done by Google. I'll try and see if I can get it on tape in the following days and post a clip with it in action.
To summarize it, when I searched for something, and clicked on the ad, I wasn't redirected to the ad url, but instead Google replaced the ad (removed the CSS class of the ad and made it look like a search result, more like a tip) with the text from the ad. It happened on everything I searched and clicked. I wasn't redirected on any website, but stayed on the Google Search page (Desktop version, Russian). I don't know if those clicks were counted, and spenders left out of money. Possible a trick done by Google to scam advertisers and report profits to shareholders? Pandemic hit everyone.
Has anyone of you seen this?
