I recently bought and read the guide in 30 minutes, accompanied by the supplementary PDF. While I appreciate concise guides, I was expecting a unique perspective or fresh insights that would provide value beyond the basics. Unfortunately, the book primarily presented common sense information, such as emphasising the importance of proofreading and manuscript editing, for an example.
However, I did find some useful hints and tips throughout the guide that I wouldn't have thought of myself if I hadn't done my own research or watched YouTube videos. These tips were practical and helpful, and I appreciated the author's effort to share them.
That being said, I was expecting something more substantial or grey area guidance from a book on a forum like BHW. Unfortunately, this guide didn't quite live up to my expectations in this regard.
Despite this, the guide is still a decent resource for individuals looking for a structured approach to get started with their project. The included tools and hints and tips may be particularly valuable for those who are new to the subject.
Overall, while the guide didn't blow me away, it's not a bad resource to have in your arsenal. I just wish there was more depth and nuance to make it truly stand out.
I hope the author will consider revising the book to include more substantial information and insights that can truly benefit readers.
