I really don't see the issue with people that wouldn't be able to access your site in the first place not being allowed to on a free plan. All it is is giving people a taste of the internet so that they will move onto a paid plan when they can afford it or want to.

The groups in India are twisting this thing more than the groups in America were a few months ago for the American version.

This is a Corporate Game deeply manipulated to make the internet chaotic and confusing for Consumers and when confusion sets in you play your game with full force ,on the other hand it will become monopoly business ,the Telecom Companies are ready with their own set of Whatsapp,Skype,Amazon,Huffpost etc they are just waiting for an appropriate time ,where they will be both Internet service provider and content provider plus online sales too(you can sniff that in Flipkart deal with Airtel) virtually blackening out competition ,innovation and oppurtunity for new comers.

The Telecom Honcho's were deeply disturbed by 19 billion dollar deal between whatsapp and Facebook, and whats more disgusting is that ISP's are slowing down the browsing speed of those ecommerce sites who fail to have a deal with them.

Friend ,your understanding of this issue is either naive or vague .
" ‘Airtel Zero' will allow everyone from big marketers to small-time application developers to make parts or their entire mobile app free for customers" - Who are these companies to make it free for us ,are they doing this out of compassion or sympathy ,they are already charging good amount for internet usages .
This is a cunning propaganda to dilute and divert any innocent opposition which comes in their way of profit maximization.Airtel zero in the name of service is a blackmail to attract more vendors who will then charge a premium for their monopoly, while there will be no transparency in those deals which exactly happened in Flipkart-Airtel deal.

Its not a blackmail its basically an internet version of the toll free numbers, yet there is no complaints about toll free numbers. There has been no legit info to suggest that it is a bad plan by airtel other than people running around saying the sky is falling.

This is a one way phone connection where you will be given one toll free number and cut off from rest of competition .The Toll free number company will pay your usage money ,yes my usage money to Telecom Companies ,that incest money will be the premium on the costs of the goods and services we will buy from that site, beside's killing the better or startup options and creating a monopolistic situation

If you already are paying for data plans you have nothing to worry about then.
