The promo ad says "$1 for the first year, second year only $4.95" but you can cancel before the 2nd year starts.

    Code:
    http://www2.netfirms.com/netfirms/special-offer.bml?page=dp-up-usd
I believe you get $75 google adwords credits with that and $25 yahoo/bing credits as well

Infact i was going to come here and create this very thread.

This seems like an excellent deal, but I've never heard of them before. Anyone have any personal experience with this hosting company? If the hosting is unreliable, even free is too expensive.

last year NEXX hosting ran an offer for a .com, .org. or .net or $9.99 and you would get free unlimited hosting for a year. I bought that and hosted all of my other sites there free for a year. earlier this year, NEXX either changed their name or got bought by Net firms.

The hosting was good, I had zero down time and page load speeds were fast. The control panel was not as user friendly as Hostgator but once you get used to it, it is fine. In a year, I never had a single problem with them except for one thing.

Every time I would change the renewal on my hosting from auto renew to "do not auto renew" it would be mysteriously changed back to auto renew. Finally earlier this month, it auto renewed.

To their credit though, it only took one phone call and the hosting was cancelled and I received a full refund.

Other than that, they were a good hosting company.

Ipage had a similar offer of 1 year of hosting for $1 last month and I switched. I am noticing that Net firms has much faster loading speeds and the control panel is the same as ipage. From what I can tell, Net firms is just a bit better.

I heard that their hosting is terrible. I bought a domain there like 2 months ago and hosted elsewhere.

    Worked a treat.

BTW, I believe this company is also iPage (exactly the same interface) and support goes through to the same box window thing.
