So I have a client with a PR 4 site. They have a really old shopping cart on the site, which isn't converting, so they built a brand new site.

The new site is a PR 0, has pretty much all the same pages and content, and is converting.

Since the PR4 is ranked really well in some competitive markets, but not converting; I'm suggesting using a 301 Redirect.

    My questions are:

    Will his PR transfer over?

What's the risk of his site losing his currently ranked positions?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks. ~Ryan

It will be fine. Just make sure you check every old page after and be sure they are all re-directing properly.

PR should transfer, but more importantly your traffic and positions will transfer smoothly - assuming the content is deemed to be as good or better quality then everything will be fine!

    Good luck!
