Google lunches their new algo update every now and then
Too many sites got been hit and penalized
I been reading matt cutts post on twitter every time they updated the new Google algo its always says
Always follow Google posting guidelines but somehow I read some BST forums they still offering and selling black hat techniques and saying they rank

im not using any magic to boost my rankings im not risking anything
stick to manual submission rather than black hat stuff.

please discuss and comment

thanks

OP so you can apply those strategies and let us know your results

Im currently using this method:

.edu blog post doffolow and high PR
.gov blog comments
Press release
Article submission
bookmarkings to digg etc.
web 2.0 blog post

I used only those links with PR and not spammy sites.
even I build not as many links per day it really boost my SERP rankings and I did not get penalized

but somehow I was tempted to blast my 1 keyword with meta blaster and sad to say 24 hours later it was gone in google search I was fooled by that.

As of now I realized i will never be tempted to blackhat
will stick to my link building plan.

I don't think that all SEO is Black Hat, but this is Black Hat World, isn't ?

Matt Cutts says not to do any SEO at all.

He wants you to create a site, if people like the site they will share it with friends (of course nobody will find your site though) which will create real natural backlinks.

If people don't share your site, you are screwed.

Good luck!

This is honestly what google wants. Any type of link building by you whether you think it's white hat or black hat is all just considered black hat since promoting your own site seems to be against the rules.

I don't really believe in "white hat" either (kinda like the tooth fairy, lol)
but....

NO ONE would consider this to be white hat:
.edu blog post doffolow and high PR
.gov blog comments
Press release
Article submission
bookmarkings to digg etc.
web 2.0 blog post

So as SeanKearns said, if you're gonna do it, learn to do it right

@moto801
Matt Cutts says not to do any SEO at all.

technically, all of these things are considered to be "white hat" by google:
*Press releases (well, some of them)
*Guest posts on real blogs
*Participating in forums and having a link to your website in your personal profile
*Joining social networks, and having a link to your website in your profile.

The "black" part is when you automate creating large quantities of the above, do it for the sole purpose of gaming the system, and create artificial places to put your links.

The fact remains though, if you don't cheat it's almost impossible to rank, so white hat may as well not exist.

Bobbylove said it all bro's...

THERE IS NO WHITEHAT...

Whitehat = Sitting and Waiting for someone to generate a backlink by talking about your site...

Sitting and Waiting is no technique, so therefore whitehat = complete bullshit.

Atleast that's how I see it... Would like to hear how you guys think about this one ;)

IMO. everything is blackhat.... others are affected by the update maybe because they went over in their link building. My site has been on page 1 for many months now after all the update it is still there. Just build links naturally and slowly. Also dont forget to update the blog with quality content.
