What happens if I create and ping a really big number of shorten URLs with various URL shortners (and their useful APIs) all pointing to the same URL?

(In this case all the URLs created would be 301 redirects.)

    So summing everything up:
    URL shortner 1 -> 100 "301 redirect" links -> website
URL shortner 2 -> same thing
    (...)
URL shortner 14 -> old same thing

In theory wouldn't this bring down someone's SERP?

I didn't try this or tested it because I don't like negative SEO - it doesn?t make sense bringing everyone else down if your own website lacks strength because you invested your effort in other places (and also because if you do it Santa won't bring you any gifts!).
However this is a very nice conversation topic.

Tell me your thoughts - trolling is allowed!

    No opinions, thoughts?

I personally believe this method seems too easy to be true.

I don't think that will work. Even then you are not going to get a good response from people on BHW by merely suggesting ideas for neg seo.

Using these services will not look unnatural in the slightest. One of the main goals of negative seo is to use unnatural anchor text.

Either way let's stop exploring the topic. It is evil as your title suggests and there shouldn't be any room in a marketers agenda for it.

Why do you need these fancy techniques. What's wrong with the good old dog porn anchor text on blog comments?

How bulletproof are NEG. SEO really? I have a site that still ranks #1 even after a guy tried to take me out with casino and viagra anchors, could be a question about time before google sends me a warning though.

Anchors have very little to do with negative SEO.
I've posted before what pro negative SEO services are doing these days for $97 a month - and anchor texts are not part of the scheme at all. Neither is comment or forum spam a particularly big part of it. Might have been in May 2012 but Neg Ess is a lot more pro now than it was back then.

Links from uncovered sape style networks (that now sell the same links they sold for PR and SERPS for a fraction of the cost specifically for negative SEO)
    SWL's
    Bad domain lists
    Injection links (hacks)
    Fake link pyramids and wheels

And yes some spam - but whereas pure link spam was the main tool in the neg SEO kit a year ago - it's a lot more sophisticated than that now.
In some niches climbing from say number 5 to number 3 can mean a 6 fold increase in revenue. That's when people are tempted to use these scum
Make $6000 instead of $2000 for a $200 a month outlay? The ROI makes sense sadly.
