So I sold some bitcoins online via paypal via a CL ad I put out. I was worried the buyer would try to scam me so I made a temp Paypal account (real, first name, fake last name) once the transaction went through I moved the money over to my main account and then withdrew to bank account and sent bitcoins. Then I closed the temp account.

Because I closed the temp account it flagged Paypals system and they reversed my bank account withdraw. It is now being held. Meanwhile the buyer reversed the payment he made to the temp account (one with fake last name, does have real social security number though.) Looks like he was trying to scam me because he is not giving coins back.

Talked to paypal according to them since the Paypal that sent me money was my own temp account (said she understood me making a temp account with fake name so personal info is not released to CL buyer) that I would end up getting 3k even though the buyer got 3k because the transaction on the temp account was reversed.

She said this would take 10 days.

My question is (I forgot to ask her this before hanging up), will Paypal send a debt collector after me for the 3k on the temp account? Whether it's to my fake name I used, or will they have my real name since I had to type social security to close account? Will they ruin my credit score? Should I move the 3k over the the negative temp account to stop them from ruining my credit score?

They said there is nothing they can do to get coins back (obviously) if I give them the money I'm out 6k.

What should I do? I can't ruin my credit score, it's near perfect and I plan on keeping it that way. But I don't want to lose 6k either.

Help?!?!?

Thanks! :) (and sorry if my long speech was confusing, let me know if your lost.)

I'm not sure, but that's a hell of a story OP. Cryptocurrencies build up cryptocriminals!

They also have my social security number though. I had to type it in to delete the temp paypal account.

Anyone know if they go after your credit score?

OP, here is a similiar thread with a lot of responses: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/making-money/127606-can-paypal-touch-my-credit-score.html

They might send you phone calls with debt collectors trying to get the money, but it won't hurt your credit score.

My brother has an account that has been -5k for over two years and nothing bad has come from it.

Hahaha thanks guys, that's a relief! The calls won't bother me, just wanted to make sure my credit wasn't messed up for the rest of my life! Thanks everyone!

Another thing to worry about is your real account. Moving the money there likely linked the accounts, and if your temp account is in the negative, it will eventually effect your real account.
