    Hello,

I have this music video of a band that I'd like to promote. What black/white hat methods would you use to make it go viral?

I have Friendblaster, which I use, but with all the captchas and limits that myspace imposes I find it limited. I read also that all tube increasers are not currently working with the new youtube changes...

I've seen that most of the bands with lots of views in youtube for their videos have referrers that are like:

    hxxp://11423068301.a.hi5modules.c0m/gadgets/ifr?synd=hi5&mid=0&nocache=0&country=MX&lang=es&view=profi

    hxxp://widget-d5.slide.c0m/widgets/slideticker.swf

when looking at the "Statistics&Data" in you tube.....How about those? Why all bands with lots of plays in youtube have those referrers?

Thanks, your help is very appreciated

"hi5modules": this shows that hi5.com has referred the video. You can put you tube videos in your profile. From there, the traffic comes.

I see, so it is just putting the video in your hi5 profile, and I guess creating hundreds of profiles would help....

Do you guys know what is the best hi5 program (automatic account creation, friend adder, etc)?

Haven't used them yet, but have heard things about Matt from Kurb Promotions (just google them). When I inquired with them (I was looking to beef up my YouTube views), I saw that they specialize in helping promote up-and-coming bands. Not an endorsement by me, but they might be worth a look. -RD

Yeah, I`d like to see a thread about music promotion as well, I`m starting to learn that people just aren`t doing it by word of mouth anymore..

Hey...I was looking for the same thing...check out Tubemogul*com They have alot of the major video sharing sites and you can upload and check your views from that site. All you have to do is create an account with them and all of the other video sharing sites, but you can do all of that from Tubemogul*. Pretty simple, some don't even need an email verification. Hope this helps, got a friends video 1000 views in a week and I only submitted to about 7 sites, they have a lot more though. Got 1147 views to my video in about a week with about 20-30 views per day right now. It's free and very easy even for a noob like me lol! Good luck!

I would focus on adding other bands as friends that are in the same genre. From there you can work on adding their friends. Usually those people will give you feedback on the video, but be warned that the music industry is very competitive and they may end up dissing the music. However, if the work is "good" in their eyes you have the potential to go viral.
