need very basic beginning advice

so ive finally gotten webhosting, won 6 months free hosting in a contest... and im really happy about it because now i get to try out making my own sites


so far my only experience is in "Bum Marketing" and writing articles.

Im looking for some suggestions on a nice beginner step to take, suggestions on what kind of site to make (no im not asking for hte niche, but what should i try to make? sell stuff? just adsense, affiliate product of some type, etc etc)

im not looking to make a ton of money, i would just like something small that can bring in a little profit, perhaps enough to continue the service after the 6 months, or enough to start a new project slowly. id be happy with 1 dollar a day since im kinda doing a fresh start

any suggestions of types of sites that would be good for a beginner to make?

I have been making websites just for a hobby a long time, but i never got enough visitors to make some money, and money wasn't my goal.
If you want to begin from start, i suggest doing what i am currently, make blogs, a lot of them, don't use quality content, just use some shity unique articles and promote those blogs.
You will have time to learn other things while doing this and when you start earning some money from adsense you will only earn more every day.
note: do stuff as black hat as you can, backlinks, traffic, spam.. whatever, but you have to start black hat if you want to earn white money :|
If you can (have paypal and you are from US) i suggest making some side money with clickbank too, it is almost the same as blogs: backlinks, spam.. traffic.

So... if you retty much do the opposite of what sqlbyte said, you should be good.

i have experience with clickbank, was up 90 dollars a day at one point (before i got a 'real' job) using clickbank in my bum marketing methods.

blogs, would that be a good way for me to start? (Easy to medium difficulty in other words)

Build a blog on article/bum marketing which are experienced with because you are already in to bum marketing and writing articles.
If you want to make money instantly, open up the money making section in the forum

thats exactly what i want to do, but ofter the time ive been learning about blackhat methods in the online marketing world, ive realized that some methods are a little more "Advanced" than others

i guess what im asking, is for someone(s) to give me a few ideas over thing si could do that would be considered "Beginner" methods, to get my feet wet yaknow?

not like "Build a website about ____ and create backlinks to _____ and use this site ____ to get referals"

but itd be nice to hear someone say something like "Making a blog site is pretty easyk, and you can implment things like adsense *insert other simple blackhat methods* which is a nice beginning approach"

Folks are reluctant to do that because #1 What worked great for me, may not work for you because different niche, different audience, etc. #2 There's so many "I'm a beginner, how can I..." threads already here with good responses, we figure you'll get tired of waiting for an answer and discover them for yourself.

This isn't a personal slight towards you, but in order to get a feel for whats going to be right for your situation, you're gonna hafta read until your eyes bleed. There are some darn good stickies here (like this one: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/making-money/15121-your-guide-making-money.html) and if you're anything like me, you'll read them and they won't really appeal to you, then a month later you'll read them again and DARNED if the lightbulb doesn't start blinking and you're off to the races!
