Ok, please read everything before you post.

I have this tradecopier for forex, the exetutable installs it on the MT4 platform. Its a script working with MySQL. The problem is, when I set it up and enter host and MySQL db details, it only allows a certain host. The host URL has to be within the source code as pre-defined and I need that host to change, so it allows connections to other hosts, too. I can't contact the company who I bought this software from, as they are out of business and I really need to change the host address, because the old host has too many downtimes. If you understood what I need, please post your skype and I will send you the .exe file, so you can check if you are able to do it.

It wouldn't be hard to just edit your hosts file so you can redirect the hard-coded mysql connection. I mean I think that would be a lot easier to do than decompiling the whole exe and figuring out how to change the mysql host.

The problem is, I don't have access to the hard-coded host. The company who was selling the software did also host the db. But the past few months, since they stopped support and sales completely, their host is down all the time...and it takes them days to put it back online.

I don't think you understood what I meant.

For example: when your computer connects to http://www.google.com

if you were to edit your hosts file on windows, you can set it up so everytime you try to connect to http://www.google.com, your computer then connects to any other ip or domain you specify.

So if you edit your hosts file , you can just have your program connect to their host but in your hosts file you would redirect all the connections to their host to your host.

So if its only a mysql database that it connects too, you can just change it so when your program connects to mysql.theirwebsite.com you would then redirect it to mysql.mywebsite.com (that was an example, since I suppose those mysql connections are in ip:port format)

No, they are not in IP format, the host is a regular URL. It could be done the way mentioned if I was the only user. I load the script from a VPS, so I guess I could edit it within. But the problem is, there is more slave(client) accounts and they would need to do the same.

99.99% of Forex EAs don't work anyway. You will make more money trading manually on a long-term chart with a moving average cross-over with filter, or Renko, or any number of systems that actually work.

I trade manually...its not an automated EA, its a tradecopier to copy trades to my clients.

p.s. The only system that works is PA, everything else is just created by retailers, who never win, anyway.

    Aw cool.

For the benefit of anyone reading who's thinking of getting into Forex: I've been around for a while and I can tell you that 99 out of 100 forex "robots" are useless. It's not even worth looking for that 1 out of 100 system. Just learn how to trade manually and find a signal that works for you. Trading is mostly about leaning how currency pairs react in given market conditions. Indicators just help you navigate the environment; they don't mean anything on their own.

It depends on the language. Of course a good cracker could do it, but I might be able to help you if it's made in certain languages, send me a PM with the exe also.
