Hi guys I'm new here but I'm not really new in the Internet Marketing arena.
I utilize PPC as my means of promoting products as an affiliate. But sad to say I am having little success with PPC, so that's why I want to try my hand on something a little bit more cost friendly ways to earn money. I'm gonna go into SEO and I need some help. ooooppps let me correct myself I need A LOT of help.

Let me start off by asking about articles. what is the right way to right an article? just how may times should a certain keyword/keywords appear in an article so that it would get attention from the search engines? And is it okay if I submit the same article to different article sites?

In constructing an seo site what are the do's and don'ts?

Any other inputs regarding article writing and seo will be a very big help

I hope you guys will be patient with me because this is going to be my fist attempt at SEO.

Thanks:)

You can get a lot of your questions answered at Ruck's site cashtactics.net . Do a search and also go to his free download section, he has a report on Article Domination there.

Sharpz, Lets look at your ppc campagins first you said you use that for affilliate sales, would you like to give an example that you tried and we will see if we can't help you see what you were doing wrong.

lets start with.......

product...

primary keywords....

which ppc engine...

tracking testing if any....

if you supply the keywords we can tell you what the clickthrough rate should have been and a few other things last but not least even if you had got your keywords right we would need to see your landing page to see if it converts ...

hope that helps you a little nicho

Hi nicho!

Sorry for the late reply, about the products I started out with those anti spyware and registry fixers and then I tried health e-books such as how to get rid of yeast infections. I got some sales but the roi is not too good. about the landing pages, I don't use any. I use a direct link to the merchant site.
Before I use google but now I just stay with MSN and YSM. I got really burned by google.

That is why I'm trying SEO now but I'm still in the process of getting my site setup hopefully in the coming days it will be ready.

Thanks!

Fromwhat you have said it looks like you need to conentrate and master the ppc before you move on to seo, l suggest you go and have a quick look around the forum and get google payload which will help you then keyword elite go vist their video tutorials which are free and comprehensive.

Most people get burned using google first time out as they are expensive and you do have to know which market and keywords are the best roi for, l suggest tht you have a look at goclick where the ppc starts at 1cent, they still have decent traffic and the quality of the keyword search is still good regards nicho

This is just my opinion, but while it's important to lace your article with keywords/phrases, you should use your keywords only where it makes narrative sense to do so. It's more important to write for human readers, and your work will have a much longer shelf life.

The SE's LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) capabilities have gotten very good of late, PLUS you'll get penalized by many article directories and SE's for keyword stuffing -- or whatever you call it.

Sharpz,

Google how to write articles to generate traffic and you'll find what you need to get started for free.

As far as keyword placement is concerned, this is what I do with my articles:

  • Keyword is first (or second) word in title.
  • Keyword in first sentence of first paragraph. Closeout first paragraph with keyword.
  • Keyword in middle paragraph.
  • Keyword in last sentence of final paragraph.
  • Anchor text link keyword in author's bio box

Don't focus on just the primary keyword, add some long-tail keywords (multiple keyword phrase). It will be easier for you to rank well in the SERPs because they're generally less competitive.

Do your article research over at EzineArticles. Look for articles written by an "expert author". Pick 3-5 talking points from these articles & paste them into your text editor. Rewrite these talking points in your own words. Make sure you write an intro paragraph (4-5 sentences) and a closing paragraph (again 4-5 snetences). Your article titles must draw the reader in and your author's bio box must get the reader to click on your links - otherwise, it's not doing what it should do for you. If you work at it, you can get some nice SE traffic from your articles.

Also, Submit your articles to high PR sites like EZA or GoArticles. When they're published, ping the article URL( Pingoat or Pingomatic), seed it at Newsvine and bookmark it using Onlywire or SocialPoster.

Xray,

Figure out who your audience is. Are you writing for a beginner, an intermediate, or an advanced audience? For example, if you are writing an article about "Creating PowerPoint Slides," are your readers new to PowerPoint, or business people looking for advanced tips?

If you do not have the time to write a full article, consider writing a "stub". Stubs are very short articles - generally just a few sentences. These are the "ugly ducklings" of Wikipedia. With effort, they can grow into "swans".
