You can easily done this , As many tools available Online, Like Photoshop which is paid , other one is GIMP which is free. browser based are Pixlr
or you can use Photoshop Free Alternative which i use the most Known as toolpic.
    follow this steps

    Step 1
    Navigate to the toolpic.com website

    Step 2
Click "Open image from computer" and then select the photo that you want to modify.

    Step 3
Click the "Wand" tool from the tools palette on the left or and then click the area of the photo that you want to make transparent. Click and drag the "Tolerance" slider at the top of the screen to expand the selection outline.

    Step 4
Hold down the "Shift" key and click another region of the photo to add it to the selection. Alternatively, uncheck the "Contiguous" check box at the top of the screen to add all pixels in the image that match your selection.

    Step 5
Click "Edit" from the Menu bar and select "Invert selection" from the list of options.

    Step 6
Click "Edit" from the Menu bar and select "Copy" or press "Ctrl-C" to copy the image to the clipboard.

    Step 7
Click "File" from the Menu bar and select "New Image" or use the "Ctrl-N" shortcut keys.

    Step 8
Select "Clipboard" from the "Presets" drop-down list and click the check boxes next to both "Create image from Clipboard" as well as "Transparent."

    Step 9
Enter a title for the new image in the "Name" section and then click the "OK" button. The white and grey squares on the new image indicate the areas that are transparent.

    Step 10
Click "File" from the Menu bar and select "Save" or use the "Ctrl-S" shortcut keys.

    Step 11
Select "PNG (Transparent, full quality)" from the "Format" drop-down list and click "OK" to save the transparent photo.

Hope It helps. You can also see some youtube video tutorial, On Pixlr editor Also.

    Hope it Helps
    thanks

Just use the wand tool (ctrl + w) then click the green background and click delete. That's all.
PS: Make sure the image is not lock or the image is not smart object. (if it's a smart object just click the eraser tool then click yes and repeat the first step I told you)

lol, no it wasn't transparent for me when I copied the image off this page! :) I didn't download the image off this page (where it would have downloaded as a png)... After you said it, I checked and saw that the downloadable image is in png format. When I copied the image, the black bg was merged with the boxers.

Here is the proof (see the right side):

I don't cheat at least my skills. ;) Give me another with a similar background and as a .jpg... I will demonstrate once again. Then select any other freelancer, and I'm not even interested in this project --- now! :) I love to work with trusting client/s...

Actually I have used the Select and Mask tool (ver cc15.5) to separate the fore and backgrounds.....

    Thanks anyway!

It is the background that make it exactly as I want it, that's why you can do it that easy :) but cool anyway.. I'm curious to see how the original pictures will be with the green background, I assume the pictures need to be taken with some very professional equipment and background setup...

Is that question for me? :)

Which shade of green should be the background?

    Another Original:

You want the boxers with this green shade as background?

If the image is of high resolution and without shake, then the original background can be easily removed/changed/edited to become anything you want. If the main characters have some part of them merged into the background (like the top original image shows, and as jpg, i.e. one fully merged (single layered) image), then it is difficult for PS to separate the same-colored background, but it can still be done almost perfectly. The resolution must be high enough to really get the best though.
