Need Some Suggestions

Hello all,

I have a potential job offer with a large .com company. The owner is a friend of my family and has asked me to pitch to him what I could do to increase the revenue of the site. The site is basically an online magazine/newspaper with a ton of industry specific articles, products, white papers, etc. It's in the industrial automation industry. The site is right now bringing in almost 1 million per year in ad revenue, but I'm looking for alternate sources of revenue or ways to further increase the traffic. Right now its getting around 100,000 uniques per month. It's got to be completely white hat obviously.

I was thinking of making more use of the rss feeds and maybe adding a forum. What are some other ways to increase site traffic or just increase revenue for a strictly white hat business site? The site does not directly sell products.

100,000 UV to get $1M/year !!! that's cool

Well! add a forum, submit to many web directories, use PPC for advertising, you have a lot of content, hire a SEO webmaster ... and may be you can use TV ads to get more UV daily, you'll get $50M/year ...

You could add a job offers section for your industry and charge companies to advertise, or join the monster.com affiliate program. I would also consider an email opt in list, there are a bunch of ways to monetize a list like that.
